1. Tell the kid hes free to leave the country at any time, we don’t force anyone to live here like overt socialist countries do. Dont expect the country to change for his views, adults understand the real world does not work this way.

You are for celebrating feminist pride, yet they didnt choose to be born female. You are for black pride and evedy kind of minority pride, but every one of them had no choice what they were born, white, black, asian, etc. But somehow being proud of your country, with both its wonderful achievements by individuals, as well as its noted and unhid flaws, that you cant feel proud about. Reinstating the draft would be an epic mistake. If the ranks include those identified by the author as hating America, then it will cause inevitable tension with those who view service to our country as an honor and an obligation of citizenship. Imagine our young men and women having to rely upon those who not only do not want to wear the uniform of our country but hate what it represents. In the event of hostilities, will those forced to serve decide there is little reason to fight or to die for their fellow soldiers let alone their country? Perhaps we already are headed in this direction, given the “wokeness” emanating from the Pentagon, but a reinstated draft will only accelerate the process.

Sure. Mandatory military service can foster patriotism. It did so in Germany, Japan, Russia, and China. But not always in a good way.
In today’s modern woke military, the draft would only make things worse.
And I disagree in principle with forcing women into any fighting roles.
May be a better solution would be a draft for political service in which random citizens are selected to hold public office for a period of time. I can’t imagine a randomly selected citizen doing a worse job than our current president or speaker of the house.
