Ukraine needs ground-based anti-aircraft missiles, in addition to anti-tank missiles. These weapons, along with the ability of the U.S. to look down from satellites, will give the Ukraine military a decided advantage in a war with Russia. That’s if the Ukraine military will stand and fight. Something we did not see from the Iraqis (other than the Iraqi-Kurds) or from the Afghans. Ukraine has, for years now, manned the border with the Russian separatists of the Donbas region. Taking the Russians on directly would be another level of challenge. Azerbaijan took care of Russia’s toady Armenia quite easily a couple years ago. Putin’s supposed invincibility of his military will be put to the test, and nobody can know beforehand how this will turn out. I’m o.k. with holding back ascension of Ukraine, Georgia, Finland and maybe Azerbaijan and Sweden to NATO as long as Russia seeks a peaceful resolution of borders. Also, no stationing of offensive capabilities near Russia. But, these are among the things that go off the table upon another Russian invasion. If Russia cannot commit itself to peaceful resolution of disputes, there needs to be no fuzziness as to where the borders are that will trigger war with us. As for us, the U.S., or us, NATO, consider the following: we spend $700 billion a year on defense, NATO $811 billion, and Russia $62 billion. And, Russia has a lot to lose if its “invincibility” becomes doubted. China thinks it owns the near republics of central Asia, and may have designs on Mongolia and Siberia as well. And, China isn’t a democracy like are we and the other nations of NATO. BTW as you can see by the numbers I quoted about military expenditure, Trump was absolutely right to call out the members of NATO that fall short of their military commitment. NATO is practically nothing without us.

I couldn’t believe that, now Putin just has to say he is living up to Joe expectations. We better not send one single solitary US vet there, not when our own border is being invaded. This crazy bastard from hell will do it though.

My personal opinion is they got caught up in the fake Russia Collusion with Trump hysteria that they themselves propagated.

Face it. They're not logical about things, but just children who get emotionally caught up in their mindlessness.

Pushing Russia as the boogey man fits into understanding why we're at this point with Russia. They thought it would work to get rid of Trump, and I still see it used liberally by liberals to this day, even with Trump out of power for a year now.

Very often, lying has a way to put you in deeper kimchi than you would have been if you told the truth.

I just saw some bs reporter woman on CNN (Camerato) who's whole point about the situation with Russia right now was “caused by Trump and how he got us so mad at Russia for interfering with our elections.”

Can she get anymore stupid?

Ukrainian Army running away from Lugansk in Summer 2014:

Ukrainian Army running away from Ilovaysk in 2014 (900 out of 8000 escaped, thousands deserted over the Russian border to claim asylum):

I have no idea what war they are talking about. Ukraine never replenished the equipment they lost in 2014. Their air force does not exist anymore, they don’t have armor to speak of, and so on.

I have recently become obsessed with the website Flightradar 24. There have been Royal Air Force C-17s making continuous runs from England to Ukraine over the last two days. There is also a U.S. Air Force E-6 frequently making large loops over Ukraine. This is a direct link to a RAF RC-135 that just did some loops in the Black Sea. I don’t actually know if any of this is unusual. It may not be.

VERY interesting. I was part of the Air Force Electronic Security Command/Air Force Intelligence Command/Air Intelligence Agency for my 7 years in Europe.

I am very familiar with these aircraft and their abilities...

Azerbaijan??

Having Turkey in NATO is bad enough. Azerbaijan is Turkey Jr. All the Azeris know how to do is murder the Armenians and steal their land.

BTW, my wish is that the US would leave NATO. But I know that will never happen.

"“...given permission to several NATO allies to send emergency shipments of U.S.-made weapons — including anti-tank missiles — to Ukraine ...”

If the weapons belong to the sovereign nations, why do they nee US permission to give them to the Ukraine?? - jst asking!

===============================

Because that sovereign nation imported those weapons and are bound by certain laws that are agreed upon. In part:

22 U.S. Code § 2778 - Control of arms exports and imports

...

2)Requirements of bilateral agreement
A bilateral agreement referred to in paragraph (1)—

(A)shall, at a minimum, require the foreign country, as necessary, to revise its policies and practices, and promulgate or enact necessary modifications to its laws and regulations to establish an export control regime that is at least comparable to United States law, regulation, and policy requiring—
(i)conditions on the handling of all United States-origin defense items exported to the foreign country, including prior written United States Government approval for any reexports to third countries;
(ii)end-use and retransfer control commitments, including securing binding end-use and retransfer control commitments from all end-users, including such documentation as is needed in order to ensure compliance and enforcement, with respect to such United States-origin defense items;

https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/22/2778

Naturally, these agreements are in place to prevent a country from receiving U.S. military hardware/tech, and then turning around and selling the hardware/tech to states that the U.S. wouldn't even consider selling to.

Is it 100% foolproof? Of course not. But if a country wants to remain on the "good side" of the U.S., continue receiving aid and be able to import U.S. military hardware / tech, then it would be in their best interest to abide by their agreements under which they received the items.

It just occurred to me to do a search about the C-17s. In an exhaustive 10 second search I found this:

I guess they didn’t lose enough military hardware in Afghanistan so now they wanna lose it in Ukraine.
Virtue signaling imbeciles.

Of course, then when our military really need it; it won’t be available.

Thanks to all of those evil idiots who did their utmost to put this fellow idiot, and demented fool into office.

Interesting lie in the article:

In addition to Berlin’s opposition to arming the Ukraine military, Germany has proceeded with its Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline project with Russia, a decision that has infuriated NATO members in the east, as well as Ukraine. The United States also opposes the Russian-German pipeline project.

Biden APPROVED the German-Russia Nord Stream 2!!!!

From the very beginnings of NATO the Russians have made it clear they don’t want a NATO country on their borders. So why did NATO and the EU deliberately provoke them?

That's like saying that the woman provoked the rapist because the wind knocked the hoodie of her burka a little bit loose showing more of her face than usual. The Russkies are the Muslims of the Slavic world. They might even torture worse than the Muslims do. I saw video of Russkies in Syria beating up a Syrian army deserter, crushing his limbs with a sledge hammer before cutting off his head and limbs and setting the body on fire. I've only ever seen the Muslims film decapitations. I've never seen long torture videos out of them.

Ukraine has, for years now, manned the border with the Russian separatists of the Donbas region.

The Ukrainians have fought, for years, Russian regular army forces in the Donbas region. It was Russian regulars, not a bunch of revolutionaries, that fought for almost a whole year trying to take a single Ukrainian airport in vain.

Putin later tried to claim those were "coal workers," but the presence of Russkie regulars with modern weapons has been verified by numerous sources. I think the Russkies are even bragging on their version of twitter right now that members of certain military divisions are "returning" to fight again in Ukraine.
