Starbucks has decided to reverse its COVID-19 vaccine mandate on U.S. workers in response to the Supreme Court's ruling on the Biden administration's mandate.
Starbucks on January 3 announced its mandate, which would have required employees to be vaccinated against the virus by February 9 or to test weekly, the Associated Press reported.
But in a Tuesday memo sent to the coffee chain's 228,000 U.S. employees, Starbucks Chief Operating Officer John Culver said the company would change its policy due to the Supreme Court's decision to strike down President Joe Biden's mandate requiring vaccines or weekly testing for businesses with more than 100 workers.
"We respect the court's ruling and will comply," Culver said.

Translation: Starbucks realizes that their uber-liberal employees think everybody else should be forced to get “vaccinated” but not themselves.
As big a vacuum as they have with libs, I am surprised. Will ‘vax mandaters’ boycott?
Starbucks won’t — but Carhardt is still doing it? World literally upside down.
Carhartt rather
The buck stops with them in any employee lawsuit regarding the company Covid-19 mandates, including wrongful death.
You can be sure their reversal is all about potential legal liability for forced “vax” without a Supreme Court approved mandate. Watch other big companies to drop their mandates, too.
Thousands of current employees at Starbucks who went to the trouble of upgrading themselves to version 1.1, 1.2, 2.0 are just beginning to process the fact that they will increasingly sharing their workplaces with Coworker 1.0.
Have mercy, because this will cause them great anguish. There is no telling how they will react or what they will need to do to preserve their sense of moral superiority.
correct. The vaccine makers and gov’mint have been indemnified, but not the employers - who, if they force compliance once the supreme court have said it’s not legally required, are now in the cross-hairs for EVERY bad result!

Coworker 1.0 will be in the company of those who have been damaged by the VAX.
Good for them.
Since they are SOOO popular and so huge with coffee and liberal people combined, perhaps this will get the ball rolling on roll-backs of this nonsense.
Wonder what will happen with the embedded SBs. Our woke PC college has one attached to the cafeteria on campus.
I’m ticked because the first time yesterday, ever I see an adjunct faculty position (or several) suitable for me, they STILL make sure to mention you HAVE to have vax/constant test as a requirement. There were 2 pools of physics and 1 of math for adjunct, all of which Icould do. But I’m just trying to retain my tutor status under the radar so cannot apply if they force this garbage.
Just because Starbucks is aligned with the Left at a corporate level it does not mean all its employees are. I would wager there are many employees that just keep their sanity to themselves and don’t let others there know they don’t agree with the Leftist nonsense. People sometimes just need jobs, and as more corporations bow to the crazies one can not always afford to work at a place that has not bended the knee.
I still wouldn’t go into a starsucks to throw up
They can get another job at the many other places forcing poison.
Where I live (Northern Virginia) a large percentage of Starbucks employees are African American. They may have been pushing back?
Starbucks won’t — but Carhartt is still doing it? World literally upside down.
What we are seeing, is the reality behind these liberal companies. Not their Honed Images!
I consider that good news coming from a big liberal company, now maybe the rest of the crazies will follow
It's also about finding people who are still willing to work at Starbucks but it's too late for that now. Bottom line, they have supported big left wing socialist government for years and now they are going to have to start closing locations. That's the return on investment when you support and work to implement socialism. They employ 228K today but in five to ten years they will be lucky if it's 100k.
