Trump, while terrific, is too polarizing. It would be better strategy to find someone who isn’t a lightning rod.

I think I would be happy with Trump or Desantis, but in the end it is the ideas that interest me and who is going to do what I think needs to be done so my vote isn’t guaranteed to any candidate this far out. I am very happy with what Trump tried to do and succeeded at while he was in office. He has transformed and energized our side and shown us how to fight. But he isn’t without his liabilities.

His ego is his biggest liability and our opponents know how to play that.
He is too proud of the vaccine. He did a fine job managing the political executive side of the development, however he needs to look at it objectively and realize that the pharmaceutical companies did not live up to their promises.
He is soft on 2A rights. Of all the regulations he tried to get off the books, he did allow the BATF to put a regulation on bump stocks as a knee jerk reaction to the Los Vegas shooter.
He is too eager to increase federal spending. Even before Covid he was letting Federal budgets expand way too fast and the only saving grace was economic growth was increasing tax revenues... until Covid hit.
The man is 75 and will be 78 by the time of the 2024 election. He is an amazingly spry man for his age, but that can turn on a dime at that age and I am not sure his ego would allow him to voluntarily hand off power if his health failed.
