Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, a once-loyal member of Donald Trump's court, is refusing to bend a knee to the former president and says backing him in the 2024 election 'is too much to ask' after Trump publicly attacked his character, according to a report.
Trump reportedly said the popular governor has 'no personal charisma' and a 'dull personality' as rumors swirl the ex-president is angry DeSantis hasn't declined to challenge him for the GOP presidential nomination.
DeSantis, however, has told his inner circle that Trump's 'expectation that he bend the knee is asking too much,' the New York Times reported.
The governor blasted back at Trump's criticisms, accusing the ex-president of being 'uncharacteristically out of step with the hard-line elements of his party's base'.
Sources close to the former president who have recently talked to him about the governor said Trump has grown increasingly irked by DeSantis in recent months, with Trump beginning to voice his frustrations to those in his inner circle.
The Florida governor is extremely popular in Republican circles, and is widely seen as a leader who can push policies popularized by Trump, but without the same level of drama or baggage.

Trump doesn’t know when to keep his mouth shut. One of his qualities I dislike.

DeSantis will be 46 in 2024. Trump will be 78. I prefer youth. And Trump had his chance in '16 and '20.
File under likely fiction until or unless somebody remotely trustworthy and identified tells the real story.
Making enemies again. Trump needs allies not enemies.
Sometimes Trump just says stupid stuff.
I don’t think DeSantis has any intention of running for President if Trump declares. DeSantis would be a great VP.
“desantis could use some charisma.”
I find bravery, articulate communication of position and principle, and competency to be quite charismatic.
This sounds like BS. Its always coming from “trusted sources” or some anonymous entity.
Trump’s biggest problem has always been that he personalizes his attacks, makes everything about him, and is harder on his GOP rivals than on the Dems. That’s why he had virtually no friends at the end.
I’m not joking. This was a sour grapes leak from Javanka.

Trump is the target here not DeSantis. If Trump is gotten rid of this then Desantis will be the new Hitler. This is alll fake ginned up crap. No republican can push a baby stroller down the street without a lot of drama and baggage. The left will see to that.
Well, if the liberal media says so it must be true!!!
Do you Always fall for whatever the media says?
I’m very good at seeing my nose before my face. Trump has been drama his entire life — anyone who didn’t know that either isn’t paying attention or is too young to have witnessed it.
Trump initiated a huge amount of the drama he dealt with during his term. He selected abysmal talent for his administration, he let the RINOs push him around and threaten him, he kept Sessions in the job, he didn’t summarily fire the upper echelons of the FBI and intelligence services, he didn’t take hold of and deal with the threat from his military brass — I could go on and on.
I would like to think Trump has learned from his mistakes and would do better the next time, but he’s shown to be incapable of that.
DeSantis is my man in the primary, with Paul a close second. Should Trump win the nomination, I will enthusiastically support, vote, and campaign for him — like I did in the first go-around. But buckle up if he wins. It will be déjà vu all over again.
Trump has said similar things about ALL opponents in primaries.
That is his M.O.
he needs to roll the twenty sided die but if i were him, i’d dye my hair blonde.

Anyone denying there is a real feud here is completely wrong.
would rand paul be vp to a donald trump second term?

If Trump didn’t make these remarks then he should simply deny that he did so. That would be the end of the story. As far as I know he hasn’t done that.
