Social media can be a great place to connect with friends and family as well as learning about the newest trends and talking points.
But doctors have warned people to steer clear of the latest fad – as it poses a danger to your health.
The so-called ‘sleepy chicken’ trend sees users concocting their very own chicken dish, braised in a cold and flu remedy.
Users refers to the recipe as ‘Nyquil chicken’ or ‘sleepy chicken’, and the UK equivalent to Nyquil would be a product like Night Nurse.

Meth chicken? WTH.
Not enough natural predators thinning the herd is my guess.
I prefer my favorite Beer Chicken.
I have a cousin who used to hypnotise her chicken.
My sister was bit by a chicken.
Or was it a moose? Don’t know….NyQuil is making me drowsy.
Stupid people are stupid.
Yeah, we did stupid stuff as kids but not down right moronic.
I thought that, too-86 the poultry, add a couple more OTC med ingredients, higher cooking temp, list steps to evade detection/arrest, etc-and they could re-name it The Kitchen Meth Challenge-winner avoids blowing his whole place up...
Darn. I thought this was a recipe thread.
“The case of Nyquil chicken is no different. The idea that by saturating any food product in a medicine believing that it will provide some novel health benefit or cure is not just stupid, but incredibly dangerous.”
???

No different than...
Boost til you roost? Snooze til you lose?
Oh fer cluckin' out loud...
If you cook something with alcohol in it, the alcohol evaporates. Sounds like you just end up with something nasty tasting with this fad, unless there is another ingredient that can cause drowsiness (I don’t use those concoctions so I don’t know what’s in them).
Tik Tok seems to hypnotize our dumbest people to follow their insane, often harmful “challenges”. What is their influence, their hold over these people? If you have nothing to do better than these asinine “dares”, why not volunteer at an animal shelter, an old age home, a school? You only get so much time on this earth, and you want to squander yours soaking a chicken in cold remedies? Morons!
How soon will a lawsuit be filed because there wasn’t a warning on the label?
“cook cough medicine like NyQuil, you boil off the water and alcohol in it, leaving the chicken saturated with a super concentrated amount of drugs in the meat.”
Isn’t this the point? Paging Darwin.
What room temperature IQ thinks this sh!t up?
Danger aside, I’m sure it’ll taste like sh!t. Might as well go full-on Sizzurp as that point; or more like its little counterpart consodering the Promethazine/Codeine necessary mix isn’t present.
I think, dear sire, that chickens in question who are bathed in nyquil, have been 86ed before their bath.
No hamsters were harmed typing this reply. (Richard Gere size in relief.)
