Given that the people he compared the republican senators to were all Democrats, he owes them (and his intended audience) a bigger apology than mere calling them racists would require.

Joe meant it as a term of endearment. Everyone knows some of his best friends have been bigots, racists, progressives, segregationists and Klan Kleagles.
I could see that speech really disturbed Mitch.
He still expects to take the nutty things Biden says as serious statements.

Biden doesn’t cajole voters. He harangues and berates them. He patronizes them and issues threats. You cause the corona pandemic. You’re stupid and selfish.
During his entire first year in office, Joe Biden did virtually nothing to improve the actual lives of actual American citizens. And he didn’t because he didn’t even really try.
Making voters happy is not a feature of the Biden equity agenda. Punishment is the point of the equity agenda, inflicting pain on the right people, dispensing rough justice, meting out reparations by other names.

Joe didn’t offend them. Whoever wrote the speech did. He has no idea what he said.
When faced with options, this White House has an uncanny ability to pick the wrong one every single time. I quite literally can’t remember a single time their instincts were proven right. It’s astounding.
