And the walls came tumbling down - look at the guy’s eyes in the video - I was reminded of the video when I saw the pictures of the babies born with similar eyes recently

Let ‘em buy all they want. It puts Dollars back into our economy, and they can’t take it home so ultimately the land stays here.

There was similar hysterics in the 90s when Japan was buying up all sorts of US land, including Rockefeller Center and Pebble Beach Country Club/Golf Courses.

Both are still in this country...

I remember Rush talking about how the Chinese own a place in the US (obama era) and it is considered Chinese land. I thought it was in the Midwest but looking online for it, I came across this:

“Both are still in this country...”

True statement.

Chinese capital isn’t doing anything different, than American capital, British capital, Japanese capital, German capital, etc.
Capital is gravitating towards farmlands which is going to be good for rural counties moving forward.

It looks like farmland, woodland, & industrial real estate will be good investments as we move through the 2020’s.

“For some reason the West is afraid of China.”

Probably for good reason. I recall reading an article several years ago that the US had zero/nada/none antibiotic factories anymore. A lot of this was outsourced to China. President Trump sounded the alarm and called on the US drug companies to reestablish the manufacturing of these life saving drugs here in the US. I don’t how much or if any that actually happened.

We (US) certainly know what our level of dependence is on China and what the cost would be to break that dependence. IMO this would be a great cornerstone of a Build Back Better initiative. I would like to see nothing more than Biden’s plan continue to languish and have Trump return in ‘24 and use the same BBB moniker to break our foreign dependence on critical medical supplies and other critical technologies/products.

“”Chinese investors owned about 192,000 acres of U.S. agricultural land valued at about $1.9 billion””

I know a few US families that own far more than that, well over 1/2 million. Our big ranch is 26,800 acres, another is 5,120 and the small one is 2560. D.A. Hughes owns over 1/2 million and he’s at number 5 or 6 in Texas as far as land ownership. As mentioned already, they can’t take it with them and they still have to make it profitable and that ain’t easy.

Rural Americans should seize and occupy any and all rural farmland that turns up as purchased by the Chinese . State and local law enforcement should absolutely not go against such land activists and absolutely should not support or enforce e for any Chinese land rights claims. All such Leo’s should defy and ignore any state or federal orders to enforce for Chinese land purchasers. ZERO CHINESE LAND PURCHASE/ OWNERSHIP WITHIN THE USA.Run them off at gunpoint

My concern would be what they do with that prime farmland. Cover it in solar panels, do nothing with it, taking that production out, driving up food shortages... they are so evil.

A number of states ban foreign ownership of actual farmland; Minnesota, Iowa, the Dakotas, and a few others.

Most foreign owned ‘ag’ land in the USA is owned by Canadian lumber companies.

Need a strong leader like Trump to stop this, not a weak stuttering Biden.

Trump had four years to stop it.

Suicide of the west. It isn't fear. Follow the money. The powers that control the masses have put Western civ on track to kill itself, on purpose, for the loot.

The West could shut down China over night by simply agreeing to stop doing business with them. Yes, it would cause disruptions but in the end they would be put in their place.

Exactly what Trump did and why we have COVID!

Pence called on President Joe Biden to “end all farm subsidies for land owned by foreign nationals.”

Unbelievable.

Which tribe did the last tribe kill to get their land? It’s been the same since time immemorial.

Clinton sold them military missile tech

That was up to 2000. The tech they've stolen since then came from W.

Any capitalist who does what you suggest, deserves to lose his ass, if his solar panels aren’t in a geographic region where solar panels make sense.

I live in a part of Oregon where such an investment would be stupid. I’m also looking at acquiring small lots of farmland, woodland, & industrial buildings over the next 5 to 10 years. If I don’t utilize those acquisitions properly, then those businesses will fold, & another buyer will buy up my failing real estate/business operations.

It’ll work out one way or another.

To clarify, W's free trade deals.

it would cause disruptions

Not disruption, but economic collapse, panic and needless death. The US is more dependent on China that you seem to imagine. Most drugs are made in India and China (especially the precursors) - cutting off drugs made in China would drive prices to astronomical heights, if they could even be found, condemning countless Americans to suffering and death in the health sector alone.
