Maxwell is facing up to 65 years in prison
Ghislaine Maxwell, the alleged former madam of the late billionaire pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, has just gotten a huge offer from prosecutors, who are saying they will drop two perjury charges if she is sentenced for the sex-related crimes she was convicted of last month.
The Hill reported that this comes as Maxwell’s attorneys are arguing that she should be given a new trial after one of the jurors in her case told reporters that he had been a victim of sexual assault as a child, something he did not disclose during jury selection. Maxwell is facing up to 65 years in prison after being convicted at the end of last month on five out of six charges related to her allegedly grooming young girls for sex with Epstein, and sometimes participating in the abuse herself.
Prosecutors sent a letter to Judge Alison Nathan on Monday saying that it will dismiss two perjury counts against Maxwell if her motions for a new trial are denied. Maxwell is facing two counts of perjury related to a 2016 deposition that she gave as part of a defamation filed by Virginia Roberts Giuffre, Epstein’s former sex slave. A trial for these charges has yet to be set, and the government said in the letter that it is ready to drop the two charges “in light of the victims’ significant interests in bringing closure to this matter and avoiding the trauma of testifying again.”
Maxwell, however, seems to not be having any of it and is showing no interest in striking a deal. Her attorneys asked the court to delay establishing a schedule for sentencing “because there is a compelling basis for the Court to overturn Ms. Maxwell’s conviction and grant her a new trial

Not according to the lessons we learned from the BJ Clinton matter. I fail to see how an offer of dismissal of the perjury charges against her is a huge deal.
Some deal. They throw a bone so she drops her request for a retrial/mistrial? She’s facing a long time anyway, so make them pay for the win that can stick this time - and make sure the potential jurors aren’t liars.
No deals unless she reveals her client lists!

I could be wrong but, this sounds like this juror will benefit from disclosing this AFTER this trial was over. Forgive me for being skeptical, I was born in Missouri.
The deal is she gets to pick between arsenic, too quick shots from behind, or bad exhaust in the van. Normally it’s been something involving a struggle and paper towel prison hanging suicide from two and a half feet up.
its too bad we have a doj we cant trust, the compromised juror makes one wonder if the doj knew abou it but kept quiet to give her an out...sad state of affairs...

Just because she has requested this does not mean that it will happen. A decision will be made by Judge Loretta Preska, who is presiding over the case.

I don’t understand the list or the Black Book being stand alone irrefutable evidence.
There would have to be electronic trails, financials, total corroboration.
Does the prosecution have that packaged up and ready? I would venture to say maybe. It might have been a slam dunk if Epstein were alive. Now, there could be a mistrial? I don’t see why not. There’s money to be made here! Big money.
