UPDATE: Boris Johnson apologises over attending Lockdown drinks party
BBC ^ | Jan 12 | BBC

Boris Johnson has - for the first time - admitted he attended a drinks party at No 10 during the first lockdown

Speaking at PMQs, he offered a "heartfelt apology" but said he had believed it to be a work event

Anthony Seldon – biographer of multiple prime ministers – says Boris Johnson is in “a very perilous position”.

Speaking to the BBC's World at One programme, he says: “It is difficult to imagine any prime minister being so far into the mud and coming back from it and yet he does defy the laws of premiership repeatedly."

'For all he does, I still like Boris'

Boris Johnson's apology for attending a drinks party in the garden of No 10 during lockdown has been met with anger from many MPs, as we've been reporting.

But what's the view outside the Westminster bubble? We've heard from a few people in Leeds.

One woman tells us an apology from the prime minister should be enough.

"For all he does I still like Boris," she says.

A man at a market stall says he would vote for Johnson in the next general election.

"We were all going through hard things and if you could party and get away with it...millions and millions of people have done it. Unfortunately he's been caught and that's it.

"At the end of the day I think the man's done a good job."

But a woman who says it was "heartbreaking" to visit her husband in hospital with cancer says the PM's apology will not be not enough.

"It's like one rule for him and one rule for us," she says. "He's done too much of it, you don't take any notice of him now."

exactly, there is a huge difference between some John Doe sneaking a drink in a British Pub versus the Prime Minister.

Boris Johnson is a fraud and should get dumped by the Torries, if they allow this fraud to remain the PM it won’t be long before Labor is running things and the UK turns into dumpster fire.

They've never been frightened of Covid. If Covid were the plague they've been telling us it is, the elites would be sealed in airtight rooms with state-of-the-art filtration systems and we'd only see them on TV.

Instead, they're repeatedly caught partying maskless and not a one of them has gotten seriously ill.

Which also begs the question: “how many of these statist tyrants have really taken the jab?”

Tories should replace him with someone better. Otherwise they’re going to lose the next election.

It’s not Jeremy Corbyn on the other side any more. In fact Labour kicked the old fart out!

The apology is probably not enough.

The Tories have 361 MPs. It takes 15% (55 MPs) to force a No Confidence vote in the 1922 Committee. (No confidence as Party Leader, as opposed to a No Confidence vote on the Government in Parliament itself.)

Unfortunately for Boris, it my not be that hard to find 55 MPs willing to do that. And he may not have a majority to keep his job.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1922_Committee

On the other hand the British political landscape is littered with the corpses of the careers of people who thought that Boris Johnson was through. The man is a survivor.

But this is a tough one for him.

Bttt.
By now everyone should realize the Torries are just the U.K. version of the "Washington Generals", and are merely there to give the illusion of choice when in reality there is one GLOBAL UNIPARTY.

Johnson has revealed himself to be a politician whose unprincipled opportunism is matched only by his incompetence, similarly to Theresa May. He just seized on Brexit as a better opportunity while she was too bought and paid for by the Euro business class to actually follow through with it.

Of course the Communist Labour Party is waiting in the wings.

He’s gone within days if not hours. Rishi Sunak or Jeremy Hunt to replace? Or Liz Truss?
