The Australian Border Force are investigating whether Novak Djokovic lied on his entry form.
It appears he made a false declaration claiming he had not travelled in the 14 days leading up to his arrival in Melbourne, the Herald Sun reports.
All travellers arriving in Australia are asked if they have 'travelled or will travel in the 14 days prior to your flight to Australia'.
They are also warned: 'Giving false or misleading information is a serious offence. You may also be liable to a civil penalty for giving false or misleading information.'
Djokovic ticked 'No' in response to the question, however that appears to be in direct conflict with the timeline of his recent movements.

What have you done about it?
You have such a little understanding of freedom.
Uluru is not that great to visit and highly overate. If they ever open Western Australia again, the Bungle Bungles are much more impressive, as is Ningaloo Reef (longest fringe reef) to see the whale sharks, sting rays, humpback whales and killer whale while snorkeling) and the Kimberly area are all great to visit.
Looks like the Jolly Swagman who symbolizes Australia is now the Happy Slave.
You’re welcome to claim the world championship of Aussie Rules . . .
Everyone involved knows the World Series winner would crush teams from Japan, DR, etc.
So what - is Australia now somehow responsible for misleading bullcrap in the Washington Post?
A few years back The Seekers did a rendition of it at the start of some sporting event. It's easily found on youtube and it's very moving indeed.
Go get ‘em, Bramps.
Tell that to Ilhan Omar who not only illegally married her brother for immigration purposes and continues to lie about it, she is yet to face any consequences for her crimes. And she is sitting in congress.
You liberals make me laugh.
What does Djokovic have to do with securing Australia's borders?
Is Djokovic a terrorist? Nope.
Criminal? Nope
Illegal immigrant? Nope. He had a Visa.
Djokovic has won the Australian Open a massive NINE times beating all records. And went back home every time.
He has no interest in living in Australia.
I’ve “known” Naturalman for some time. He may be many things but a “liberal” (by *our* definition...in Oz “liberal” means conservative) ain’t one of them.
Is it not this same Australia that gave Djokovic a visa? What law did be break here?
Are you now going to deny the English used to deport their dangerous criminals to Australia and leave them there for life?
Australia already has. Just look at the lying, very woke, lockdown crazy Prime Minister they have.
So why did Australia give him the Visa in the first place then?
Then start sliding and wheedling when the political climate turned against the Prime Minister?
(I've no idea of the total number of times, but he's won nine Australian Opens, so it is at least nine times), I honestly would expect him to understand the difference between the Victorian and Australian governments.
You have state governments determining immigration? Do they decide on wars too?
What does the federal government do then?
So why is he backing liberal positions in Australia?
Conservatives are strongly for immigration controls yes.
But not for putting the number one player on the planet and the best player ever, who HAS A VISA, in jail for 3 days with no phone, little food etc, and pretend they put him in a hotel.
The already fast sinking Australian reputation just took another deep dive.
Never heard that rendition before. The video that accompanies it is great.
The Federal govt issued the visa and the state govt is responsible for assessing vaccine exemption which it did and it issued vaccine exemption for Djokovic.
Djokovic followed the law and the process exactly and cleared airline checks and was on his way when the lying PM Morrison decided to intervene and decided to use Djokovic as a political football as the media had created a manufactured outraged against letting a unvaccinated player in. Instructions were sent to Immigration officers to turn back Djokovic at the airport.
They did not expect Djokovic to fight back and since he won his court case, the Immigration minister is frantically figuring out how to deport Djokovic and his department officers are combing through the various forms to find some fault.
This is how batshit crazy Australia has become recently and this too under a so called conservative PM who is widely expected to lose elections due in a few months.
