enate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and other top Republicans are stepping up a personal campaign to persuade Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan to run for the Senate and help the party's chances of regaining control of the chamber.
The recruitment effort has included McConnell's wife, Elaine Chao, who held Cabinet positions in the Trump and George W. Bush administrations. Moderate Senate Republicans, including Susan Collins of Maine, have also been in direct contact with Hogan to note that his centrist brand of politics would be welcome in a chamber riven with partisanship. Several other Washington officials have made financial pledges or shared internal polling to try to convince Hogan that he has a path to victory.

The end game is about majority control of the Senate.
Hogan would be a means to that end.
The Rats understand that game. Manchin was the only Democrat that could have won in West Virginia in 2018. So they went with him, even though they don’t like him, because they were working toward majority control and putting Schumer in the driver seat.

There has to be about 3 seats won by Trump Republicans, because when it becomes clear McConnell won’t remain as leader, he’ll retire. KY governor is Dem and will appoint a replacement.
Then Romney may change parties. Utah has a GOP governor so he could do the McConnell maneuver.
Susan Collins might retire, too, same scenario. Dem governor.

The reason the GOP is full of RINOs is because of the insanity of voting in communist Democrats simply because the other RINOs in the party allow them to put Rs by their anti-American one-world government names.
The GOP must be purged of these traitors and these traitors like Hogan must be punished for alignment with fascist communists. Whatever the cost, don’t vote for our destruction and Hogan has already shown his true colors. You may as well be voting for Andrew McCabe or Adam Schiff or Kinzinger or Flake. Such a ridiculous act to vote for that and think you’re getting a Republican. It’s worse than a Democrat holding office.

Maryland is not - ever - going to see a MAGA-supporting conservative win a statewide race. Hogan is as good as it gets there. You take what you can get.

What exactly has he done as governor that you do not like?
The best thing he did was get a state law passed prohibiting schools from starting before Labor Day. Going to school in August is the dumbest thing.
Beyond that, I think he has steered the state through treacherous fiscal waters and come out to 2022 with a sound fiscal plan.
