Appearing on the Fox News Channel, Gristedes CEO John Catsimatidis warned of a possible shortage of meat and eggs as a growing number of Omicron coronavirus variant cases puts pressure on the supply chain in the United States.

When the Khmer Rouge starved their people to death, they were exporting rice to Red China in exchange for weapons.
As Ireland’s population starved to death or fled, Ireland still exported potatoes; the unspoiled portion of the crops were duly collected as rents and shipped out.
Whole, organic chicken thighs are $3.49/lb.
Any organic whole grain bread is $5 a loaf.
Any time I see the organic label on anything I hold on to my wallet. It basically does not mean anything at a supermarket other than you are paying more. Sorry, but it is a sales gimmick.
A half-gallon of skim milk was on sale for $.79 at Fred Meyers last night. It says that they don't feed the cows any weird stuff. Fred Meyers local milk tastes the best to me. And it was very fresh. Even in my advancing years I still chug about a gallon of milk every couple of days. I can't afford to pay 500% more for milk that claims to be organic.
They haven't?
No such luck, here.
For example, a 50 lb. bag of store brand "Scratch Grains" that was $8.99 "regular price" a year ago is now $13.99, and comes with a lot more crap in it.
Outside of sales, that's the pattern for any feeds I'd consider for our chickens. Not sure about cat food (the only other animal we have.) It'd have to be pretty bad for us to consider harvesting a cat.
That is what I was pondering.
Get helicopter flight insurance if you don’t already have it. It’s a couple franklin units per year.
On 1/15 the vax passport for Canada goes into effect. So truckers won’t be able to cross the border without a proof of vax. There goes more drivers not moving cargo.
So, it will get worse.
I’m new to chicken farming and I’ve been told they should “rest” in the winter. . .but if there are truly going to be egg shortages, I guess I might try the daylight bulbs.
Yes! You have a good memory. I live in the SF East Bay, in Contra Costa County in an area where chickens are allowed (but not roosters).
Wow! I had a woman from Instacart deliver less then a month ago and she said she was from Russia and was surprised at the empty shelves here !
Empty shelves nationwide. See the many photos and locations and some video.

Winter of your discontent?
This is 100% intentional. The climate alarmists have been wanting people to go vegetarian for decades, so now like the Fauci clot shot, it will be forced on them.
My coffee buddy is a state inspector for locker plants in the area. Most plants are booked up through 2024. They have meat orders for animals that haven’t even been born yet.
Half the country is forced to take 5-10 days off from work because they had the sniffles and tested positive.
I'm in the same boat. Sitting here on Tuesday morning, in my pajamas, perfectly healthy because my son was sent home from school on Friday, tested positive, and my employer required me to take a test. And guess what? I tested positive for snifflecron as well!
I'm perfectly capable of going to work but I am not allowed to.
Vegetarian is native American for poor hunter. Even if there was not a single piece of meat in the store two of my seven freezers n fridges would still be full of the very same wild boar, Axis deer, white tail and eastern wild turkey they currently hold. Hundreds of lbs of game shot this year alone , hey it’s 100% organic free range meat ha. Exotics like Axis,Roe, aoudad, and wild boars run free and wild in soit Texas where they have no closed season not limits on private land. They have been released to go wild years ago and with little to no natural predators have exploded in population growth. We Texas won’t be hungry for meat any time soon. The hardest part this year was 30_06 bullets were nearly impossible to find. Couldn’t load your own as R17/15 was also impossible to find and forget about small or large rifle primers. I ended up using 223 or 7.62 in the eaters this year in FMJ as that’s all that was in the shelves turns out FMJ puts down just as good as soft points if you put the round in the boiler room I’ll never pay for soft points again lesson learned with two freezers full to prove it.
Yuk.
But with a fertilizer shortage, that may be necessary. I would imagine starting with animals would be more palatable to most.
I’m new to chicken farming

How many Chickens do you have in your farm,
free range or enclosed.
Interesting since yesterday, Bloomburg expressed concern for the dairy and cheese supply chain based on personell shortages due to covid.
All Dairy is manual labor sensitive, whereas cheese is long-term dairy with time and fermentation.
Diary has also shown that it also dependent on transport and containers; and it was container shortage that resulted in diary farmers dumping milk
because they couldn't accesses the bulk container market in restaurants in quarantine, or schools which were only remote learning.
Meat and eggs are the primary source of protein in our diet, whereas dairy offers necessary vitamins, pro-biotics, and protein necessary for human growth.
