Former Jeffrey Epstein attorney Alan Dershowitz lobbied then-President Donald Trump to pardon madam Ghislaine Maxwell before she could face trial, according to a report.
The 83-year-old lawyer — himself long accused of having sex with one of late pedophile Epstein’s teen accusers — pushed for the pardon after UK media heiress Maxwell was arrested in July 2020 for the sex-trafficking crimes she was convicted of last month, the Times of London said.
The retired Harvard law professor was able to use his close ties to Trump, whom he also represented during his impeachment trial, the paper said.
One of the convicted madam’s brothers, Ian Maxwell, 65, confirmed to the UK paper that he had discussed the possibility of clemency with Dershowitz, who got Epstein his controversial wrist-slap 2008 plea deal on sex offenses with underage girls. ...

Of course he did. Remember that, despite his denials and threats to sue, it’s quite possible he was one of their regular “customers.” He claims he kept his undies on during his “massages.”

Personally, I think they should have tried to get stuff out of her in exchange for a pardon and witness protection. As I’ve seen posted elsewhere, this is the only black book in the world where there were no names...also, the only sex crime ring where there were no Johns.
She’s taking the hit for them in exchange for her life. She wasn’t the one behind it, just the facilitator and “receptionist at the front desk.” She’s guilty, but there’s more back there that the important folks want to avoid at all costs.
At the same time, if I were a witness these days, I wouldn’t trust (DOJ) witness protection either, so that may not have worked.
It was his job to get her off by hook or by crook. If my lawyer had access to a sitting president I would expect him to try for a pardon, too.
Yes, but he's probably had at least hundreds of clients over the decades. Some might still be in prison. Others might be free but with a record.
Did Dershowitz seek pardons for all his former clients? Probably not.
So why Maxwell? What made her so special (other than being especially vile)?

Was he? He represented Epstein back in 2008 but I don't think he was ever Maxwell's lawyer, and he certainly wasn't her lawyer when he lobbied Trump. Add in that Dershowitz is accused of having sex with Virginia Roberts Giuffre when she a child and this is obviously sketchy at best.
I am 99.99% sure that the FBI and DOJ have no interest in “getting stuff out of her”. And, I think she’s a lot more involved/guilty than you suggest, even if others up the line were equally evil.
She knowingly, continually participated in providing young girls for sex with “celebrities” for YEARS.
And if she does “name names”, she is that much more likely to inadvertently commit suicide, very soon.
There is no good ending for her, at this point.
So why Maxwell? What made her so special?

Never convince me that Alan Dershowitz is not one of the pedophiles that was being blackmailed by Jeffrey Epstein.
Sounds like the vague scumbag kind of attack the leftists would use because they might have not agreed with some of the things Dershowitz has said over the past few years.
In a lot of cases Federal statutes probably didn’t apply. In others he might not have had the access - the Presidents’ door keepers told him to get lost.
I get the feeling this was a ‘Hail Mary” on the part of Dershowitz.
Sure they are, just not for the purpose of serving justice. Evidence that can be used to "influence" powerful people is extremely valuable. The entire point of Epstein's operation was to be able to hold this info over people's heads. Now the CIA, FBI and DOJ wield that influence.
I call bullshit on “anonymous sources say”. Unless he filed the actual application form and they have FOIA’d a copy of it, it didn’t happen.

Hypothesis I’ve never heard:
Hi-society Ghislaine was sexually active from a very young age, and loved sex. There are women who are nymphos - I knew a couple before I became a Christian.
So in her own warped mind, she was only helping younger females into a lifestyle she loved, assuming they too would love it. She saw nothing perverted in it.
What she never took into account was most women were not like her. And her love for sex was not normal.
From her view, all she did was only to help younger women enjoy what she enjoyed. Thus - a somewhat clear conscience. Of a warped mind.
Just a possibility........
And I in no way am justifying what she did. It was indeed criminal.......
