An act to amend the real property law, in relation to prohibiting eviction without good cause
There you go NY, chase more people out. There must be some toxin in the air that makes these people think the way they do. Ever seen the movie, “The Happening”? The plants give off a toxin that makes humankind commit suicide.
Non-payment, destroying free things, causing fights/gun shots 24/7. Those good enough?
I wonder what is the difference in legalese between “cause” and “good cause”.

Please don’t move to FL. Wall off the Lefty states.
I'm trying to convince one of my tenants to move to California.
Short list of countries I avoid:
Turkey
Venezuela
France
New York
California
The last two are members of a federation called the United states of America, and France is a member of a federation called the European Union. But all are mostly sovereign countries.
Oh, and New Jersey.
Wall off the URBAN lefty counties
Did you notice in there that the landlord cannot recover their property in order to sell it. These democrats are the most vile evil communists in the country. Landlords are still under the eviction freeze in NY too. Some landlords have not been paid in two years. Even landlords with only one rental.
yeah i have a total of 5 “doors” three are being rennoed. One pays rent faithfully, the other started having financial difficulties in October and has applied to the NYS ERAP program which is a farce.
I’m thinking of selling them all once the 3 are finished, however the price will probably fall like a rock as Biden crashes the real estate market.
“I’m trying to convince one of my tenants to move to California.”
Brilliant! Sales points.
Good weather
High pay
Ca gives out better free medical and low income benefits than any other state.
How many landlords are there ?
How many tenants are there ?
Nothing is about right and wrong anymore. It is all about the numbers. Who is going to cry for the landlords getting destroyed? Not many.
I saw it! the “moratorium” on evictions was to condition the folks to accept laws like this. The end goal is “free” apartments for all the “poor,” paid for by those who actually go out to work.
Pretty sure I could “encourage” unwanted renters to vacate.

After an unfortunate brief experience as a landlord in the North, I would not even consider being a landlord north of TN. And my experience was 35 years ago. In Illinois, I believe multiple witnesses have to see a tenant murder at least two people in order to have that tenant immediately evicted.
This basically says they don’t want people to empty a property so they can sell it. Not every rental is an apartment building. Some are single family homes. Who is going buy such a home for personal use if a tenant is living there?
These people are sick.
As NY’s Eviction Moratorium Nears its End, Will Albany Pass ‘Good Cause’ Bill?
More on NY moratorium:
“The new moratorium, which lasts through Jan. 15, 2022, allows landlords to challenge a tenant’s hardship declaration by submitting a sworn statement claiming that the tenant has not lost income during the pandemic. The Rent Stabilization Association, a landlord group that has been fighting the eviction moratorium in federal court since May, claims that the new iteration of the law continues to deny landlords due process in court.
Attorney Randy Mastro, a partner with Gibson Dunn, who represents RSA, argued that landlords have no way of knowing the details of their tenants’ financial situations.
“Landlords can’t swear in good faith that their tenants have no hardships,” Mastro said. “They would have to subject themselves to the penalty of perjury on subjects they couldn’t possibly know about their tenants. Many tenants aren’t even communicating with their landlords, so how are landlords supposed to even know?””
And one last thing about NY. A tenant that has left to live somewhere else for a number of months cannot be evicted even if they are months behind on the rent. Even if there failure to pay the heat causes the apartment to freeze up. Pure Evil.
“Pretty sure I could “encourage” unwanted renters to vacate.”
If you did that up North, you would have the full and unbridled force of local and state government on you like a ton of bricks very quickly, and it would ruin you.
