For the past several years, the Convention of States Project has been gathering concerned citizens from every pocket of the country to urge state legislators to use this long-neglected constitutional “check” on the power of Washington. With Republicans in control of 33 state legislatures and Trump in the White House, now is the time to make this happen. The Project’s model resolution, which has been introduced in 48 states, to date, calls for a meeting of the states to consider, and potentially propose, amendments that would achieve one or more of three objectives
Impose fiscal restraints on the federal government, Limit the power and jurisdiction of the federal government, and/or Set term limits on federal officials and members of Congress.
While it is no surprise that Marxist-leaning groups would fight, tooth and nail, to resist any plan for breaking the federal government’s virtual monopoly on policy-making, all conservatives agree that this monopoly is a perversion of our federal system. But sadly, the Left’s propaganda and junk history have brainwashed some conservatives into opposing the states’ use of constitutional power to check federal overreach.
Having spent much of my adult life documenting various tactics used by the radical Left, I can’t say that I was totally surprised when I recently learned that the Left was, in fact, the original source of the fear and misinformation concerning Article V today, or that they are now escalating and publicizing their opposition to conservatives’ use of the process to restrain federal power.
In their efforts to frighten citizens and state legislators away from the one process powerful enough to “drain the swamp,” the conservative naysayers refer to the process as a “constitutional convention,” or “con-con,” slander the Founding Fathers by maintaining that the Constitutional Convention exceeded its authority, and prophesy that if 34 state legislatures should ever be so reckless as to hold a meeting to discuss proposing amendments, then Christmas will be outlawed, the Second Amendment deleted, and the nation’s Capital moved to Los Angeles.
They have overlooked a few key facts about interstate conventions, in general, and Article V, in particular. First of all, they have overlooked the fact that the state applications that trigger the convention can limit the scope of the convention however they choose. This is inherent in their power of application.
The sad thing is that the conservative opposition groups don’t even seem to realize that in stoking fears about an Article V convention, they are reading right out of the Left’s playbook. While they tell the conservatives on their direct-mail lists that they are working to save the Constitution from being rewritten by George Soros and his ilk, Mr. Soros smiles, breathes a deep sigh of relief, and toasts to their success.
Never mind how these conservatives missed the Memo in which the 230 most liberal, Marxist-leaning organizations in the country explicitly stated their opposition to the Convention of States Project.
These fringe conservative groups, fighting hard against the broader conservative movement to oppose this constitutional safety valve, are blocking the one politically feasible means the Right has to reverse our nation’s slide into socialism. So long as the John Birch Society, Eagle Forum, and certain representatives of Concerned Women for America are fighting this fight for him, Mr. Soros can save his billions to send more statists to Congress, where they can continue to exercise powers never actually given to Congress in the Constitution,but blessed by an activist Supreme Court.
JBS hasn’t always opposed it. In fact, in the late 50’s and early 60’s, JBS Founder Robert Welch and many JBS chapters lobbied for passage of state resolutions to trigger a convention to propose the “Liberty Amendment.” Today, however, JBS seems to have forgotten about all that. It now uses the Left’s label of “con-con” to refer to the process, and fiercely opposes any and all efforts to implement it.
It is important to point out that in opposing the Article V convention process, Eagle Forum and John Birch Society have placed themselves in opposition to a long list of prominent conservatives that includes Sean Hannity, Mark Levin, Tom Coburn, Jim DeMint, Jeb Bush, Allen West, Ben Shapiro, Bobby Jindal, Greg Abbott, Marco Rubio, Mike Huckabee, Michael Farris, and many, many others. As more and more well-respected conservatives sign on to the Convention of States Project, I suspect that Eagle Forum and John Birch Society will grow increasingly uncomfortable withstanding on the side of George Soros, Democracy 21, and Planned Parenthood.
I would remind them that there is no shame in changing their position. After all, I was once a radical Leftist, until I learned the truth. There is, on the other hand, considerable shame in letting fear and ignorance triumph over reality, reason, understanding, and cold, hard, historical facts.

Amendments can call for state voter referendums to nullify refractory powers of certain groups inside federal agencies and branches.
When certain powers are nullified by state referendums, enforcement thereof becomes illegal as well as tyrannical.
For example, Biden deploying the US Army to enforce a nullified mandate. Army Commanders would be on notice that carrying out such unlawful orders could result in criminal charges by tribunal if necessary. This would be a precursor to Civil War.
In such a scenario, Governors in command of their state National Guard would protect the citizenry from such unlawful attacks. US Army Commanders would have no choice but to resign or oppose. The ensuing Constitutional crisis would drive Biden from power as his illegal actions would break his chain of command.
In reality it wouldn’t get that far.
But such is the power of Article V which is why it was placed in the original Constitution preceding the Bill of Rights.
The point is the power of Article V is in the hands of patriots for now. If the current movement in electronic voting and all mail-in voting continues, the power of conservatives will be eaten away in time.

All of which was enabled starting with the 16th Amendment and its enabling legislation, the 1913 Federal Reserve Act which evolved a non-gold backed currency of monopoly money and debt ceiling shenanigans making Members of Congress millionaires and more.
Any person trained in History can see what unfolded and why. The reason it has lasted so long is due to the Bretton-Woods Agreement establishing the Federal Reserve Dollar as the Petro Dollar and therefore the world’s reserve currency which Beijing is aiming to replace with its own.
For those that can’t readily digest the above banking connections, it boils down to simply printing the money from which one enriches oneself and favored backers, in other words, bribes and grift.
For those that think the USA could not fall into such debasement, understand that Americans are human beings no different in their predations than all other peoples. If the opportunity to plunder is ever present over time, there will eventually be a class that succumbs to immediate human vice rather than the wisdom of the ages. The only thing that can stop such spiraling are legal dignified actions of a prevalent group of Citizens armed with the Philosophy of the Enlightenment. Article V is a vehicle that authorizes and facilitates such actions.
I bought it, but have not read it through yet. I was put off by his amendment to institute term limits. My thought was to first identify and repeal the existing corruptions to the Constitution. Then, only if that does not resolve the issues, consider new amendments.
He published this about 6 months after I sent him my thoughts. I don’t know if I had any influence. After my research, I determined that there were 3 corruptions of the Constitution that are now reaching Critical Mass: 16th Amentment, 17th Amendment (both in 1913 or thereabouts) and a House Rule in 1928 limiting membership to 435.

I have been watching closely and have yet to see a better plan and strategy. I would love to; I don’t think I’m the best scholar or thinker, but I’ve been very disappointed in everything I’ve read since I wrote my first version of these letters.
Oops - these letters were written in 2015.
But the convention is controlled by the states. Not the federal govt.

In addition, if Bezos & Soros can easily steal a presidential election through graft & fraud, what makes you certain they CANNOT do the same to control the state GOPers participating in a States Convention?
The events since November 2020 until the present have totally changed my opinion on having a Constitutional Convention from "absolutely in favor" to "pandora's box is better off left closed"...

A “runaway” convention would never happen, since each State application must specify the reason for attending the convention. A meeting to repeal the damned 17th, for example, would not be allowed to wander into strange territory.
A strong secondary line of defense in this matter would be a wisely chosen chair to keep the delegates in line. (I propose Clarence Thomas, or Mike Rowe.)
Even if the convention did become overheated, nothing they did would become law without ratification. That would require the approval of three-fourths of all the States, and that ain’t gonna be easy!
Would Congress vote for an Amendment that limits their own terms of office? Hell no! That’s why we have Article V.

In 2020 we reelected the best President in at least several generations.
Yet, he isn’t President.
Kind’a contradicts your appeal to restoration of free government through the electoral process.
The states won’t send reps; they’ll send delegates with commissions.
It is a big diff that too many COS opponents refuse to acknowledge.
It is a cadre of RINO GOP governors who helped convince me to turn against a Constitutional Convention of the States,,,

Under any kind of pressure, what RINO has ever stood his ground for the concept of a Constitutional Republic?
We did not have a FRee and honest election!
In 2022 and 2024, we need to ensure that we do!
#3 is hard to verify, unless you implant a chip in the legislator’s brain. For that, a brain needs to actually be present.
