ELGIN, Ill. — The family of a suburban man who is seriously ill with COVID-19 has filed an emergency appeal trying to force doctors to treat him with the controversial drug ivermectin.
Sebastrian Abbinanti and his wife Maria both tested positive for COVID-19 last month. The Elgin couple, who are in their 40s and have three young sons, were both put on ventilators and have been in the ICU at AMITA Health St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin for three weeks, according to their family.
Their family has been fighting to keep them alive at all costs.
On Tuesday, Maria Abbinanti died.
Dozens of people gathered together outside the hospital Tuesday to rally around the family. Attorney Patrick Walsh joined them. He filed an emergency motion on behalf of the couple last week seeking ivermectin.
It’s a controversial drug that family members hoped could help them. Pfizer pill becomes 1st US-authorized home COVID treatment
“The family had agreed to waive any liability against the hospital, its employees and anyone involved with administering ivermectin to Maria and Sebastrian,” Walsh said. “But the administrators at the hospital still declined to allow it.”
AMITA Health has a blanket policy against treating COVID-19 with the drug. On Friday, a Kane County judge sided with the hospital and denied the couple access to it.
“You would think with all other courses of treatment exhausted and their own treating physician suggesting it, and the family agreeing to waive liability against the hospital, there’s no conceivable reason to deny,” Walsh said.
Earlier this year, the American Medical Association called for the “immediate end” to the use of the drug ivermectin to treat COVID-19. It is used to treat parasites in animals, and sometimes humans, but is not an anti-viral and is not approved by the Food and Drug Administration for COVID-19 treatment. It can be taken topically or orally if prescribed by a doctor for its intended use, otherwise, potential side effects can be severe, including neurologic disorders, seizures, coma and even death. Ivermectin use surges despite no evidence it treats COVID-19
On Wednesday, U.S. health regulators authorized the first pill against COVID-19, Paxlovid, the Pfizer drug combo that will be available within weeks.
The family continues to fight for Sebastrian Abbinanti.
Their attorney filed an emergency appeal, which will be decided within five days.
The family is hoping he can hold on.
A GoFundMe was started to help the Abbinanti family.
WGN News reached out to the hospital’s attorney for comment, but have not heard back at this time.
2022: DO NOT GO TO AN E.R. under any condition
Murder by Hospital
Why doesn’t the family just start administering Ivermectin to the sick family member themselves, rather than waiting for the courts to decide?
👎
Big Med scores another one.
RE: Ivermectin
Most people don’t know where to find Ivermectin, thanks to the medical community and big pharma.
Whatever happened to
Do No Harm
How much did the hospital make on the ventilator and Covid-19 death?
Wife went to doc on monday. She thought she had strep throat. She had Covid. Doc offered her ivermectin if she wanted it….. but both agreed she wasn’t all that sick. Didn’t take it. We are in OKC. We have both had it twice now. No jabs.
Ivermectin availability seems to be a function of where you are.
BTTT
Those with mass formation psychosis can’t allow the possibility of ivermectin saving lives.
Why?
Because saving lives kills the narrative.
Bout 12 tubes of the horse paste online...just to put in the gun safe
$39K, on average.
I’dve taken the ivermectin for future provision.

CDC director agrees hospitals have monetary incentive to inflate COVID-19 data
By Blake Fussell, Contributor
U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Robert Redfield acknowledged during a House hearing Friday that COVID-19 data could be inflated because hospitals receive a monetary gain by reporting COVID-19 cases.
Republican Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer of Missouri questioned Redfield during a House Oversight and Reform subcommittee hearing on coronavirus containment. He asked about the “perverse incentive” for hospitals to classify deaths as being coronavirus related when the virus didn’t cause the death.
Luetkemeyer voiced concern about how an automobile accident-related death could be recorded as a COVID-related death. In this scenario, the death was recorded as COVID-related because the virus was in the victim’s system, even if the car accident was the major factor.
“As long as you have COVID in your system you get to claim it as a COVID death, which means you get more money as attending physician, hospital, whatever,” Luetkemeyer said during the hearing. “Would you like to comment on that, about the perverse incentive? Is there an effort to try and do something different.”
Redfield responded by telling the congressman, “I think you’re correct in that and we’ve seen this in other disease processes too.”
“In the HIV epidemic, somebody may have a heart attack but also have HIV,” Redfield explained. “The hospital would prefer the DRG [death report] for HIV because there’s greater reimbursement. So I do think there is some reality to that.”
Take Ivermectin long before you have to go to a hospital.
What the hell ever happened to “Right to Try”??
I’da grabbed it, just in case. I think it’s pretty cheap for the generic.
A simple search finds multiple sources. My family members keep plenty on hand.
