Russia’s Demands on Ukraine Must Be Addressed Urgently, Russian Official Says

Russia’s lead negotiator for coming talks with the U.S. said that Moscow’s demands on Ukraine must be addressed urgently and warned the Biden administration against resorting to the economic pressure it has threatened to try to get the Kremlin to back down.

In advance of Monday’s talks with the U.S. in Geneva, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov sketched out an unyielding stance. He said the North Atlantic Treaty Organization’s military ties to Ukraine represent a threat to Russia even if the country isn’t formally admitted into the alliance.

Mr. Ryabkov rebuffed the Biden administration’s calls for the Kremlin to reverse its military buildup near Ukraine’s borders, saying Russia has the right to decide how to deploy forces on its own territory.

Mr. Ryabkov noted that he will be accompanied to the talks by Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Fomin and other military officers. The U.S. side will be led by Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman, though Mr. Ryabkov said he has yet to be presented with a full list of the U.S. participants.

But Ukraine does not...ok, got it.

He’s got a point there. If we started militarizing our side of the border with Mexico or Canada and the Russians objected, we’d arguably have the right to tell them to kindly butt out.

And if Russia launched a coup in Mexico, made an alliance with them, and built up attack forces across from us... we would get -very- nasty about it.

Most likely, I would imagine the “Or else” would be we’ll see missiles in Cuba again, and they’ll bulk up even more around the Donbass and be on a hair trigger there. That would be my guess. And also, they might decide NATO doesn’t need Russian gas, etc.

Russia (Soviet Union) is currently crushing an uprising in the Kazakh SSR right now. They did the same in the White Russian (Belarus) SSR last year. And they now want the Ukrainian SSR back under their dominion.

“And if Russia launched a coup in Mexico...”

They most likely would have been finished off by the locals within 24h.

Granted, but the commies have a time line, China walking into Taiwan the same time Russia secures the eastern section of Ukraine check mates our Corrupted weakened military, and they know it….must be done before the 2022 elections. Don’t doubt that, I have a DOS background. They will be banking on Senile Joe’s admin to appease China, ( let the reunification occur) while slapping ineffective sanctions on Russia. I worked in Moscow three years, the Russians laugh at our past “ sanctions”, ie, Polish apples rotted on the tree, cheap imports from China and Turkey filled much of the gap.
Been to Moscow lately? Korean cars and appliances everywhere. I can on and on, US sanctions mean absolutely nothing to a country used to Soviet shortages.

How about this as a deal: Ukraine will not join NATO. In return, Russia will guarantee the integrity of Ukraine’s border by cutting off all support for the Ukrainian rebels in Donbas and withdrawing from Crimea.

The deep state and the far left are on the take from Russia. Why would they want to invade or start a war when they get millions from the corrupt Russian oligarchs and the Neo Soviet government? The worst Russia has to worry about is sanctions that can be easily bypassed.
