Looks like the Dems are serious about the civil war comparisons. Here’s Andersonville rebooted.

Crystal Ball 2033: January 6 detainees have sued in court and challenged their unfair treatment. Congress eventually agrees and pays each person $5-million ‘to shut up’. More than 60-perent of the nation now believes we’ve reached Bolivia-status...a true third-world nation.

Good for her! The treatment of these political prisoners has left a big Pelosi-sized stain on our justice system.

So heart-breaking. We truly are fighting evil entrenched in high places.

Just a reminder, Trump could've pardoned all of these people before he left office.

There was precedent. Carter blanket pardoned all the draft dodgers before many had been charged (and now couldn't be). Trump himself pardoned Steve Bannon who had only been charged with a crime, not yet tried or convicted.

Trump did nothing.

He hooked up Kwame Kilpatrick, Rod Blagojevich, and a whole slew of Wall Street crooks on his way out the door though.

It’s timing. The ball is still in play, and a pardon would have been used by the 1/6 Show Trial Committee as evidence against him.

Their suffering right now for him will be repaid at the right time.

Trump is not worth suffering for - he has done nothing to defend these people. As for the Dem’s January 6 nonsense, he should have been smart enough to know that nothing he did was going to mollify them, even throwing these people under the bus.

Saw Bush treated like a Messiah, and now Trump. Pretty much all cons hate Bush now, and Trump well... No one-termer will be that well liked in the end. I really don’t know where to stand on things now.

I think Trump is too old, too toxic. He was good, but I honestly think it’s time for Desantis now.

Worst care scenario is Desantis/Trump destroying each other in a primary and handing it to the dems.

They aren’t under the bus. There are lawsuits to be filed once their cases are adjudicated, and the payday will be juicier the more they’re mistreated. In the interim, if Trump does anything to help them, it’ll be called buying their silence. He and they are better off (such as it is) for now as things are, provided they don’t fold and bolster their fake narrative.

Nobody has any illusions about mollifying Nanshy et al. But when the lead is flying, you have to keep your head down and inch your way forward to a better place where you can hit back.

“Trump is not worth suffering for”

It’s not about Trump. He’s just in the way of their obsessive hatred of working class deplorables. And they ARE worth suffering for. Trump is just the personification and object of that hatred. When he’s gone from office in 2029, they’ll still hate deplorables.

That’s a weak excuse

Their suffering right now for him will be repaid at the right time.

I’m not holding my breath.

McConnell told Trunp that he would be impeached in senate if he had pardoned the Jan 6th detainees.

As Trump wantes to keep open the option to run again, he agreed to McConnell’s threat.

McConnell also threw the senate to the dems for holding up Trump’s idea of the extra $1400 covid payment, which everyone and their dog was expecting.

He’s a nasty hardline SOB.

That’s some real leadership.

Did McConnell also threaten Trump if he didn’t pardon Blagojevich?

If you take a shot at the King, make sure you finish the job.

It’s a hard lesson. But one these fools are learning.

he agreed to McConnell’s threat.

Pretty much describes his whole presidency. McConnell and Graham told Trump what he could and couldn't do. That and a bunch of swampy people surrounded him, advised him and undermined him yet he kept trying to get them to like him.

Which is why we get nowhere until the GOP is totally purged. And starting a new party is not an option, much easier to just kick them out, and make them start a party.
