We have the idiots like you do who think they can’t skid too. They’re the main reason I won’t get out when we have this kind of weather. I’d rather not be in their way when they do.
That ice storm in ‘98 came in at night while I was at work. Driving home in the dark, weaving through big tree limbs down across the streets was not fun. I wasn’t sure I’d be able to get to my apartment when I reached my street but barely managed to do it. My hands were cramping from gripping the steering wheel so hard. LOL
We won’t have anywhere near the snow they had in VA, thank goodness.
Good evening/morning, Mooch...glad you enjoy. We have to remember them and all they do, or have done.
Another pretty day for a good time at Wichita Ridge. And Applebee’s for supper. Sounds like a very good day for you and Gizmo.
Oh, goodness! That storm sounds like a real nightmare. I’ll bet you were so relieved when you closed the door to the apartment closed behind you.
The blizzard I was in in VA was in ‘96. They were selling t-shirts saying “I survived the icy mix...of ‘96” Wish I’d bought one. LOL!
It WAS a nightmare. And as bad as Tullahoma was hit, other towns were hit even harder. Some people went a month with no power.
I was glad to make it home but walking into a dark, cold apartment wasn’t exactly a thrill. I’d start the car once in a while and sit in it to warm up occasionally. I had running water but no hot water. Was I ever glad to take a shower after 5 days! LOL
I’ll bet that hot water never felt so good. LOL! It’s the little things...
And now, I need to do that little thing called sleep. See ya tomorrow! Hope the weather isn’t as bad as they are predicting.
That was the BEST shower I’ve taken. LOL! Not being able to shower was the second worst part of the ice storm. Being cold was definitely the worst.
I’m getting ready to head off to dreamland too. It isn’t looking very good on the radar right now and I want to be ready for whatever hits us.
Well, it rained yesterday and is supposed to snow today. We shall see.
(((HUGS)))
LOL, my mom did well to retain her sanity!
I also had the opportunity to visit the Seabee Museum in Rhode Island which was appropriately housed in a series of four or five Quonset huts, but I got the impression it was cash strapped, sadly.
Good Morning Kathy!! (((HUGS))) Yeah, all okay although the internet was down for a day and a half, just back up this AM. Neighbor with a bulldozer (finally got it running) plowed the road to the highway which also is now open. The boys ran out of beer and are itching to head out to replenish the stock; didn’t like my red wine (haha).
