Could some future president, given the environmental threat to our planet that some scientists believe is driven by population growth, order that every American who has had two or more children get these two shots?
In November, the Biden White House announced that the Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration was unilaterally mandating that all employers with more than 100 employees require that those employees be vaccinated for COVID-19.
"Covered employers must develop, implement, and enforce a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy, with an exception for employers that instead adopt a policy requiring employees to either get vaccinated or elect to undergo regular COVID-19 testing and wear a face covering at work in lieu of vaccination," said the regulation.
The administration claimed that the justification for this mandate was the Occupational Safety and Health Act, which gives the secretary of Labor the authority to "provide ... for an emergency temporary standard to take immediate effect upon publication in the Federal Register if he determines (A) that employees are exposed to grave danger from exposure to substances or agents determined to be toxic or physically harmful or from new hazards, and (B) that such emergency standard is necessary to protect employees from such danger."
The administration further suggested that its authority to use OSHA to mandate vaccinations derives from the Commerce Clause of the Constitution. "The Occupational Safety and Health Act is an exercise of the Congress's Commerce Clause authority," it said in the Federal Register.
The Commerce Clause says: "The Congress shall have power ... To regulate Commerce with foreign Nations, and among the several States, and with the Indian Tribes."
Forcing Americans to get a vaccine shot they may not want is not an act that regulates commerce with foreign nations, between states or with Indian tribes.
The National Federation of Independent Business filed suit challenging the OSHA mandate. The Supreme Court will hear the case this Friday. More than 180 members of Congress have joined in an amicus brief challenging the mandate.
They argue that Congress never gave OSHA the authority to require a vaccine.
"The ETS provision of the OSH Act allows OSHA to address only 'grave danger' in the workplace, which includes any 'toxic or physically harmful' agent, without going through notice and comment when such an emergency standard is necessary," said the congressional brief.
"As a matter of statutory interpretation," said this brief, "the OSH Act 'covers only workplace-specific hazards and permits only workplace-specific safety measures."
"But OSHA now wants to dictate virus protection measures outside the workplace to stop a virus outbreak that is also taking place outside the workplace," it said.
"Vaccine mandates are traditionally the province of the States," said the congressional brief.
"It is thus unsurprising," it said, "that the ETS itself acknowledges that OSHA has never used its authority before to mandate vaccination."
"But the ETS Mandate here opens the door for a power that would lack an intelligible principle-it would allow OSHA to become a roving committee for general health policy."
There is no doubt that COVID-19 vaccines have been good for America and for the world. They have saved lives.
But the president of the United States does not have the unilateral authority to order any American to undergo any medical procedure.
If the Supreme Court were to grant this unjustified power to Biden now, who does not acknowledge the right to life of the most innocent and vulnerable human beings (the unborn), what would he or his successors use it for next?
Are you telling me that because I got the two shots, I can’t get anyone pregnant?
I might have to go test that theory.
It’s a great analogy for the vax mandate argument. We keep hearing that the unvaxxed are selfish and putting others at risk so a mandate is warranted for the good of the population.
Ok, if climate change is deemed to cause food and housing shortages then why can’t the govt mandate sterilization under the same reasoning?
Can’t wait to throw that one at my lib acquaintances.
I think it is a safe bet that we are already there. I suspect the vaccines have a negative effect on fertility.
Well let’s hope so. We do not need brain dead people breeding in the first place
Just like China, eh?
Mandate family size.
Sadly there are so many sheeple who will follow whatever mandate the government will impose. And they will be proud of it just like the covid mask and vax junkies. Imagine the tweets. “I just had my ovaries removed to save the planet.”
One of the (many) reasons we have the 2nd Amendment.
If you can be forced by the government to get a shot in order to live, eat or work using as a justification a bad flu, there is no limit to what the government will force you to do to satisfy any need it has at all.
And that included no need at all.
This is the road to
Heil Brandon
Your right to beget children ends where my right to food and water begins.
Triple jabbed are SUPER SPREADERS.
His brain is already sterile.
That’s literally the first thing that popped in my mind with these vaccine mandates. If the President has the power to dictate our medical decisions(for the good of society), what’s to stop a future President from forcing people to get sterilized so they can’t have babies after a certain age? To control overcrowding. (For the good of society).
Have you seen the data on deaths from Life Insurance Companies since CoVid?
Successful reproduction is the hallmark of life on planet Earth and let the Devil take the hindmost.
But the article I'm responding to is specifically about "future" plans at sterilization and I think that is misleading because I don't think it's a "future" problem, I think we are already caught up in a government mandated effort to reduce fertility. Any article which discusses "future" sterilization is, I think, misdirection to distract us from what is in front of our face.
Make sure you wear a mask.
They are starving in Africa so cut your own nuts off fool.
