In Re: Decennial Redistricting Pursuant to The Constitution of Virginia, art. II, §§ 6 to 6-A, and Virginia Code § 30-399
FINAL ORDER ESTABLISHING VOTING DISTRICTS FOR THE SENATE OF VIRGINIA, THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES OF VmGINIA, AND VmGINIA'S REPRESENTATIVES TO THE UNITED STATES HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES
Following the process provided in§ 30-399 of the Code of Virginia, upon the failure of the Virginia Redistricting Commission to submit a redistricting plan by the governing statutory deadlines, the Supreme Court of Virginia assumed responsibility for the establishment of voting districts for the Senate of Virginia, the Virginia House of Delegates, and for Virginia's representatives to the United States House of Representatives as provided by Article II, §§ 6 to 6-A of the Constitution of Virginia and Virginia Code§ 30-399. The Constitution requires that this responsibility be completed "in the year 2021 and every ten years thereafter." Va. Const. art. II,§ 6.*
The Court has reviewed the proposed final redistricting maps and the accompanying explanatory memorandum prepared by the Special Masters dated December 27, 2021 ("Final Memorandum"), and has considered the extensive public comment, including comments submitted in writing to the Clerk of Court, comments made on the online interactive maps, and comments made directly to the Court during its public hearings on December 15 and 17, 2021. The redistricting plan and maps, jointly prepared by the Court's Special Masters, Dr. Bernard Grofi:nan and Mr. Sean Trende, include a single redistricting map for the Senate of Virginia, a single redistricting map for the Virginia House of Delegates, and a single redistricting map for Virginia's representatives to the United States House of Representatives

The Congressional maps are fair and in 2022 will likely lead to the GOP picking up VA-7 and VA-2.
The GOP would have won 52 seats in 2021 on the House of delegates map.
The State Senate map is absolutely rigged for the rats. I can’t see how the GOP will win a majority on that map at any point in the decade.
So the GOP did OK, or did the Supreme Court of VA hose them?
Looks like the US House of Reps map is made with an almost minimal amount of gerrymandering.
WHere do you get that info?
The VA State Senate map is tortured because half the voters of VA are Federal or State Government Employees or contractors and do not have generational ties to VA, they moved to a high income zip code for a high income job. They do own their homes as an investment and desperately need local services to expand to drive up selling prices artificially. They vote to get representation based on delivery of services from state and local government.
Nationally they tend to vote more on the federal issues of the day and against cutting off federal largeness during their 12 - 20 years at the DC feed bucket.
The question I ask of VA voters to figure them out in a non party manner, Where do you want to be in 10 years? Amongst the 35-65 crowd the answer is not in Northern VA. To 25-35 crowd Northern VA is great place to raise kids 5-18 with some notable exceptions based on activist on school boards.
They did ok on the Congressional maps, the House of delegates map was a wash and the State Senate map is not good.
Research.
Districting by either party is as corrupt as a nursing home diaper.
Districts should be squares or rectangles with all four sides straight.
If true, devastating for any hope that the GOP agenda can ever succeed in VA. Permanent Dem veto regardless of who controls the House of Delegates or the governorship. VA is finished.
