NEW YORK (AP) — New York’s attorney general has issued subpoenas to former President Donald Trump and his two eldest children in connection with an ongoing civil investigation into the family’s business practices, according to a court filing Monday. Attorney General Letitia James’ office said in the filing that it is seeking testimony and documents from Trump, Donald Trump Jr. and Ivanka Trump “in connection with an investigation into the valuation of properties owned or controlled” by Trump and his company, the Trump Organization.

Do these folks think the Donald Trump dictates the values of his properties when using them as collateral or for tax purposes without someone verifying it? Another fail by this DA. If this is really about the Trump Organization business dealings then shouldn’t they be subpoenaing Eric Trump since he was responsible for the day-to-day operations? Yet he seems to be missing.
If I run around telling everyone my $300,000 home is worth $2 million, does this mean a bank is going to accept that statement at face value and extend me a $1 million line of credit against it?
And if I tell my local municipal government that my $300,000 home is really only worth $150,000, are they just going to accept that statement and reduce my property taxes by 50%? LOL.
