The Israeli embassy in Kiev, Ukraine, on Saturday condemned a torchlight march of Ukrainian nationalists who celebrated the birthday of Nazi collaborator Stepan Bandera.
“Israel condemns the nationalist march in honor of Stepan Bandera. Any attempt to glorify those who supported Nazi ideology defiles the memory of Holocaust victims in Ukraine. We are demanding a thorough investigation of the antisemitic manifestations that took place during the march in accordance with the law adopted in Ukraine in 2021,” the Embassy said in a stern statement.
The march drew special attention in light of the threat of a Russian invasion. Andriy Tarasenko, leader of the nationalist party Right Sector, said, “Today, when there is a war with the occupier at the front, and the struggle against the ‘fifth column’ continues in the rear, we remember and honor the memory of Stepan Bandera.”

If they try, the EU will have to establish a European Lottery to decide the 10% t0 15% who get to freeze to death each winter.
This economic exploit is already a worst case failure, but the plan is to Blame Russia.
More broadly, partisan formations directly under Bandera's control engaged in attacks on and expelled Poles who resided in Ukraine, including the part forcibly transferred from Poland.
These ugly episodes were glossed over during the Cold War in favor of praise for Bandera and the Ukrainian partisans as anticommunists who bravely resisted the Russians. Unfortunately, most conservatives and Americans are little aware of the complicated ethnic, territorial, and national histories that contribute to the politics and tensions of Central and Eastern Europe.
The lack of capacity to supply Europe was evident from the start. Most of the LNG coming to Europe is subcontracted Russian gas.
The West should just let the Slavic peoples work things out amongst themselves. Russia knows they’d get their asses kicked if they tried to invade Poland.
The ugliest propaganda regarding Bandera bandits is that they were “freedom fighters who fought both Communists and Nazis”.
If you’d ask what battle they fought against the Nazis, the protagonists shut up.
They didn’t fight against the Soviets much as well, unless you count the civilian population.
Most of their fighting was in Volhynia against Poles, specifically the Armia Krajowa (AK)
Of course not. Russia could easily kick the crap out of Poland, be it a part of NATO or not. Look at Winter 2002 Polish contingency exercises. The possibility of such development is near zero if Polands takes a neutral stance though.
Bottom line is that the Ukrainian nationalists are lying a-holes. They are still there.
We have some freepers who deny there’s a strong Nazi population in Ukraine.....but there certainly is and they came close to being in office there.

I notice they haven’t showed up on this thread.
Bandera didn't think much of Poles either.
After WW II, Stepan Bandera settled in Munich and was employed by the Gehlen Org, which was an integral part of the West German and NATO Cold War intelligence apparatus. This secured for both the former Nazi Gehlen and the former Nazi ally Bandera immunity for their sordid pasts due to their supposed value against the Soviet Union. As it happened though, Gehlen’s agency was eventually found to be thoroughly penetrated by Soviet spies.
The surviving Jews and Poles in Galicia were ethnically cleansed and largely resettled in Silesia and the areas of Prussia given to Poland. My father’s family moved from near Lvov to Stettin.
The Kielce Pogrom was an NKVD Operation, Stalin wanted to create as much of a wedge between Christian Poles and Jews as possible, to facilitate the Soviet takeover of Post-War Poland.
Of course it was not. What exactly makes it an NKVD operation? The whole mess was started by Polish troops who were joined by a crowd of hundreds local Polish.
Even the way how the Polish Cardinal initially tried to blame the Soviets for this is laughable. He said the Soviets are to blame because they give the Jews the best jobs and the Jews don’t live modestly.
The Polish-Ukrainian habit to blame all their ills on the Russians is counter-productive.
Thanks, All, for the input on this thread, it is more complicated than I expected, and we got some good info posted.
Cronos on 7th of April Ha. ha . ha. ha
Isn’t it true? Is this hysteria to shut me up to continue pushing your deceptive warmongering propaganda unopposed? How is Kherson offensive going?
