Rapid tests causing grief in state with highest vaccination rate.
Emergency rooms in Vermont are being overwhelmed with people who have tested positive for COVID but have no symptoms, bolstering the criticism that mass testing amid a pandemic is counterproductive.
Vermont, with about 77% of the population vaccinated, has the nation's highest rate.. Vermonters who take the rapid tests and test positive for COVID-19 are "clogging up emergency rooms."
Dr. Rick Hildebrant, medical director of the emergency department at the Rutland Regional Medical Center, said people should go to the ER only if they have a positive test and are very sick.
The Vermont Hospital Association told WCAX it is hearing of a similar situation in other parts

World Health Organization officially acknowledged that the "gold standard" PCR test used to diagnose COVID-19 has a high rate of false-positives that make it unreliable.

In August 2020, the New York Times examined PCR testing data in three states and found "up to 90 percent of people testing positive carried barely any virus" and, therefore, were not infectious.
The Vermont hospital director, Hildebrant, told WCAX the flood of asymptomatic people is blocking care from people who need it.
"It's not so much the beds that are the precious resource, it's the staff at this time," he explained. "So we have to have some of our clinical staff providing care to those people and they can’t provide care to the folks in the ER."

The Daily Telegraph of London reported one in three COVID-19 patients in the U.K. may have caught the SARS-CoV-2 virus in a hospital while being treated for other conditions, according to government data.
Many medical scientists have argued that mass testing of symptomatic people during an epidemic is counterproductive.

If they have no symptoms why are they in the hospital?..................
All b-s-
Scared by the media, Bill Gates, Fauci, Karens, and ...
Sounds to me like “cover his az” for the President after story of him rejecting sending testing kits to citizens back in October.

“If they have no symptoms why are they in the hospital?”
That was my first thought as well. Isn’t that like answering the door because nobody knocked?
Probably admitted them to make it all seem more scary.
Because the non-stop propaganda from the talking heads in the media have people convinced (especially in leftist strongholds like Vermont) that the wuhan flu is the equivalent of ebola or the bubonic plague so those who test positive - even with no symptoms - are in a panic, hence they flood the Emergency Rooms.
This is obviously creating an impediment for the delivery of care to people who are actually sick with true ailments.
My wife got it -- loss of taste/smell, killer headaches, basically the classic symptoms. Tested and confirmed. Two days later, I started with the same thing. Didn't get tested because there's no point. Test won't tell me anything I don't already know, and it won't make me feel any better m.
No serious breathing issues, so just letting it run its course. All these whiners running to hospitals with no systems are just gumming up the works.
Probably admitted them to make $$$$$$$$$$$$$$..................
Not sure we ever got enough evidence to show how Bernie Sanders can be a thing..
We may have the best example with this Vermont story
Panic in slo-mo........................
Mass testing is only part of the problem. An even bigger issue is the level of fear that has been induced through 24x7 mis-reporting and outright intentional fear-mongering.
Seriously, do fat people show up at ERs and wait to have a heart attack? Do people with sunburns show up and wait to see if they develop skin cancer? Do women, the moment the EPT says they're pregnant rush to the hospital and wait months to have a baby? No. But people have been so conditioned to fear covid as the big bad boogieman that the moment they find out they have it the rush to the hospital? SMDH...
These drama queens are hopelessly caught up in the hysteria. I made it through covid last October. If I’d gone to the ER I probably would still be there.
Going to get tested with hundreds of other people around is the stoopidest thing you could do.
But it will backfire...since Omicron is NOT being stopped by vaccinations.
I have talked to a few people that believe covid is more deadly than things like Ebola or the plague. They are now firmly in Crazyland. It will be very difficult, if not impossible to deprogram them.
In part because colleges have been teaching their students to go to extreme lengths if they think they even might have been exposed to COVID, even though they are young, healthy, vaccinated, and asymptomatic.
Once young people with that mindset hear that somebody they know tested positive they follow the response they learned at college. Get tested immediately. Quarantine. Confirm the rapid test even if it is negative with a PCR test. Call all their friends and have them do the same thing.
In that world anyone who gets a positive test result sets off a mini-panic, so heading for the ER is logical for them. Even if it is just to get the second test.
