As a former world traveler, (retired cc pilot), I was almost always disappointed when the reality didn’t didn’t live up to the Hollywood fantasy.
Well put.
My first visit to the Neuschwanstein castle was an event Hollywood couldn’t possibly match.
Yes and I react to criticisms like your with calm, slightly condescending amusement.
You’re funny.
The fog had thinned a bit...just enough for me to see the faint outline of one of the towers of the castle, along with a bit of the wall. In my head, I could hear the Bach organ tocatta associated with creepy movies.
Even so, it was a lot of fun.
Muir ?
Any relation to ABC urinalist Dave ?
David Jason Muir is an American journalist and the anchor of ABC World News Tonight and co-anchor of the ABC News magazine 20/20, part of the news department of the ABC broadcast-television network,
If so, condescention, aka snobbery, must be a family trait.
Even if not , the fact you brag about being condescending says more about your ignorance and character than mine.
.
I do try to be humorous at times though, so I concede you that point.
Glad you enjoyed the post.
That’s what happened when I visited the Castle! It just appeared out of the clouds, so cool!

Or is it John Muir you’re related to ?
Muir was a preservationist. He considered forests sacred and wanted them treated as parks, with logging, grazing, and hunting prohibited.

Common mistake, Israel the man and Israel the nation are both male. Every bit as much as Germany is the father land.
How were the dwarves there?
I dont care about statues I care about my kin. I don’t need to see your filthy little country
I was totally skeptical about the Blue Grotto at Capri, but was so blown away by it I burst into tears. The kindly boatman—he looked like he'd seen this reaction times before, but he avoided rolling his eyes.
I emailed Burt Prelutsky some years ago in response to an article he wrote in WND, and was so surprised to receive a thoughtful reply.
RIP, lovely gentleman. Hope you are reunited with your late wife.
I accidentally noted Burt’s name on an episode of Dragnet and now watch for it every day. Today’s was on child abuse and how hard it is to truly save a child from a lunatic parent. Working in healthcare for many years I can tell you that is 100% correct. Many of the episodes he wrote told the gritty truth of attempts at law enforcement.
Burt had the ability to think about many things at the same time. I loved his articles, have all his books and search for other things he had a hand in, like Dragnet. What a loss we have to manage but thanks to Loud Mime we aren’t alone!
Out of all the conversations I had with Burt, one of my favorites is when he started talking about Jack Webb. Jack was very tight about money and time. Burt never showed me one of his scripts, and didn’t answer when I asked him how many “nods“ he put in each half hour show. he just said “enough,” and laughed.
