Israel set to double settlements in Golan Heights

Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett said Sunday that his country plans to double the number of settlers living in the Golan Heights.

The plan was approved by the Israeli Cabinet on Sunday, Bennett’s office said.

The move comes nearly three years after the United States, under former President Donald Trump, recognized Israel’s sovereignty over the Golan, which Israel captured from Syria more than five decades ago.

Trump’s declaration was condemned by the rest of the international community as the annexation is not widely recognized. […]

Israel is not going to want to give up the Golan Heights for two reasons:

1) They got tired of being shelled from there.

2) The Golan supplies a third of Israel’s fresh water supply

The Golan Heights were seized during a war started by the arabs. It is conquered territory that the Israelis have every right to settle in. If they can ever shake-off their COVID fear, they may be able to keep it.

COVID mandates don’t make it or any other country a Nazi country. And the Golan Heights have been Israeli since 1981 and were annexed 40 years ago. These aren’t even settlements.
