Mrs. L makes an incredible coffee rubbed venison tenderloin with a blackberry sage sauce.

Amazing.

Venison Fajitas sound wonderful.

I'm doing Elk mini tacos.

Shhh...we don't want PETA finding out.

If we’re not supposed to eat animals, then why are they made out of meat?

Then each plate, in honor of PETA, should be labelled: Donner’s, Rudolf, etc.*

* Like EVERBODY else, I cannot (or cannot be chuffed to figure out) name either the names of all the reindeer or the dwarves. So, sue me.

Love venison, but only doe or yearlings. Seeing as your from MA, I'm gonna guess you had a buck. Bucks harvested in fall are loaded with testosterone and adrenaline and thus I would only take antlerless deer when I hunted...very different taste. Of course as others have stated, dressing, processing, preparation and manner of cooking are also important.
Too old and crippled to hunt anymore, but I know some younger folk who will gladly donate a back strap or two if an antlerless tag were provided by somebody.

😇

“To not hunt, allows the herd to grow too many on the land, like bad developers put too many houses on one acre of land. Then all will suffer from not enough, and will grow weak, and suffer the wolves. Or not enough land to grow any food for the people, who also will suffer the wolves.”

Well said... Plain and simple. There is an important balance.

After watching a spectacular sunset last night, we were sitting around a fire pit .... we passed around smoked venison shoulder with hot peppers & spicy mustard while the kids roasted some hot dogs over the coals. Good conversation, beer, wine, family ..... it was a nice time.

Lots of deer populate our suburban neighborhood

Bambi is growing up literally in my immediate neighborhood and yard. Bambi for reasons I can’t comprehend, doesn’t mind her mother.

Early on, while quite small, she would show up in our back yard, find a nice spot and just lay down. Sometime later, her mother would show up and take her back home...... wherever that is.

I created a very large pile of mulched up leaves. The pile is located very near the ivy patch Bambi liked to lay down in. The very large mulch pile had a large hollowed out depression. I’m certain Bambi wandered in and created a nice cozy place to sleep in the hollowed out mulch

Bambi has grown at an incredible rate. At first she was the size of say a small adult Labrador Retriever. In 8 or 9 months, Bambi is now say three quarters the size of a full adult.

Any way....... for Bambi, my yard seems to be home

LOL...then, as soon as Santa lays out his word...

Santa says: “That’s nine points there...BUT I HAVE 30 ROUNDS IN MY AR-15!” as the reindeer’s mouths fall open when he pulls the gun out from under the table!

“PETA Outraged by Venison Fajitas”

ya think they’d be double-outraged over Reindeer Fajitas on Christmas day?

Had a buffalo burger at Mt. Rushmore in the early 60’s.
Wonderful.

Hunters have contributed to the extinction of species all over the world, including the Tasmanian tiger and the great auk

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I speak only for myself but I solemnly promise to never again hunt the Tasmanian tiger nor the great auk.
“Loving their families”? She obviously knows nothing about the lives of deer. Once a buck has impregnated a doe, his contribution to the “family” is finished.
The young are raised by the does.
Why are leftists so delusional? It’s not like the information isn’t available, because it is. They simply assume they already know everything I guess.
two things i have learned over the years, 1. deer KNOW when the 1st day of hunting season opens- they split to the deep dark thick woods; 2. like the Romans, they keep close, and their enemies closer - they know there is no hunting next to the house!
for your pleasure, onyoutube, there is the deer whisperer. oh, yes, there is such a thing called deer corn, too.
have fun!
Nature is tremendously beautiful and every animal has the right to live. "
...except every fifth human now located in its mothers womb.
