China is fast gaining military advantage in space, completing fifty orbital launches this year, ahead of the US, which carried out forty-three.
LeoLabs Australia’s Managing Director Terry van Haren says China is “outpacing” the rest of the world in deploying military hardware into space.
“There are many purposes in many respects; we got the earth observation purpose,” Mr van Haren told Sky News Australia.
He said there are a “whole bunch of very suspicious activities” which is also going on in space at the moment, such as the recent launch of SJ-21, which was claimed by China to be an “inspection satellite”.
“It is now in the geostationary belt…and that’s typically not where there is any debris, it’s really where the critical assets of the United States set in terms of their military commander control.
“So, it’s a very, very suspicious satellite, and it was even more suspicious when it produced a sub-satellite.
“So, this is the sort of activity we really need to be concerned about; it means that China is preparing for the potentially space conflict…and it’s like chess, you really want to deploy your pawns and have those in place.”

Yes. However having 43 assets that work is still better than 20 that work and 30 just orbiting around.
Great orbital position to spread satellite killers from.
I am so screwed.
Yea but how’s their Muslim outreach?
Yeah but they signed a treaty to not weaponize space. /s
China is on the verge of collapse.
That’s what happens when you protect the entire Western world and support 30 million illegal residents.
Wait...you mean environmentalists aren’t demanding we carpet bomb the hundreds of new coal fired power plants the ChiComs are building?
they just want every car to have it’s own windmill and to look the other way on China and India and pay billions to Micronesia to keep them afloat.
After WW2 The US stupidly agreed to not prosecute war criminals in return for that human research done without those pesky morals. The research turned out to be pretty much worthless. People who do such things are criminals and create criminal results. I don’t think the ChiComms will be much different.
They have to send tugs out to follow their PLAN ships. Most of the Chinese stuff I buy ends up being crap and now I avoid any Chinese products I can. Not just because China is ChiComm, but because most of their gear is woeful. Car parts, clothes... all crap. I would be heartily surprised if even half of those Chicomm satellites were functional beyond a few months, if at all.
The only answer for poor engineering is redundancy. Much as the Persian immortals, the Chinese are launching enough space weapons so that the ones that fail can be immediatly replaced.
A guy who wrote the book “The Hundred Year Marathon” has appeared on Tucker’s show several times. He’s very smart and understands China well, and lays out what most people are oblivious to with regard to their strategic intention of becoming the worlds largest (and only) superpower. Michael Pillsbury worked in the Pentagon and CIA under every president from Nixon to Obama, and if anyone knows what he’s talking about - he does.
