Rep. Tom Rice (R-S.C.) told Politico on Wednesday he wishes he had certified the electoral votes of several states that voted for President Biden in the 2020 presidential election.
“In retrospect I should have voted to certify,” Rice reportedly said. “Because President Trump was responsible for the attack on the Capitol."
The South Carolina Republican alleged that Trump “did nothing to stop” the attack on Jan. 6 and looked on at the unfolding events “with pride,” and from afar, Politico reported.
Rice told the news outlet that he only voted against certifying the electoral votes of several states because he had publicly announced his intent to do so and did not want to go back on his word.
“In the wee hours of that disgraceful night, while waiting for the Capitol of our great country to be secured, I knew I should vote to certify. But because I had made a public announcement of my intent to object, I did not want to go back on my word. So yeah, I regret my vote to object,” Rice told Politico.
However, he added he still thinks there were “real issues with the election.”
Rice was among 10 House Republicans to vote to impeach Trump, calling the former president's behavior during the Jan. 6 riot “inexcusable” in a statement in January.

This guy is my congressman. After the impeachment vote, I sent this jackass a nasty letter telling him truthfully that I will vote against him in the primary and if he should persevere, I would vote Democrat for the first time in my life. I want him out.
Of course, now I get fundraising emails. What a well-run operation he must have.
South Carolina deserves better than this dipstick.
even if Stacy Abrams fixed the election in Georgia, that’s just one state. We would still have to overturn the election in Nevada, Wisconsin, Michigan, Arizona and Pennsylvania.

We wouldn’t have to overturn all those states. Just 3 states would give Trump the needed electoral votes.
no if ands or buts. Joepedo won. There was probably 7 million fraudulent votes in PA alone. He won through pure fraud. The governor was 1000% confident when he went on air and bragged Trump wouldn’t win PA.
Anyone who thinks 2024 is magically going to be different is insane. They compromised the voting system in several states via dominion, Covid mail in votes and usual fraud stuffing.
in CA the whole Pencilgate was an issue in 2020. 100% promise you my vote was counted for the pedo after my pencil was “fixed” so the machine could read it.
They won when out of power. Now they’ll cement their BS.
we all sat around here in FR bitching about “oh we’ll get em next time in 2024.”
When have the D’s ever taken a step back on Anything they’ve done.
Elections for President will never again fall into anything but a D choice as they’ll keep refining their tactics as we progress.
plenty of reports of dirty D shenanigans in Clark County that tossed NV for pedo. Same for AZ.
DeSantis. I love the guy. He won’t win. All the above. Bank on it. WE lost the country when we let them pull the sh-t they did. We wonder why the country is in the sh-tter? Cause we didn’t Smack the Democrats into their place. We let them run rampant for decades, corrupting everything they touch. Stealing anything not nailed down.
we’re 30 years late to fighting the Democrats for basics like school.
“March peacefully and patriotically in front of the Capitol and make your voice heard” is an “attack on the Capitol?”
What about the BLM and Antifa infiltrators in MAGA gear, and the FBI instigators?
And the Capitol Police who said to the true MAGA protestors, “Come on in, this is your house?”
I never heard of Tom Rice but this ahole needs to be primaried.
I was against certifying before I was for it.
little #$%&*!
AND SPEAKING OF 7TH CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICTS (Tom Rice represents the South Carolina 7th CD):
One could idly wonder how it was that in the 7th US Congressional District in Minnesota, which hasn't changed its boundaries since 2013, incumbent Democrat Collin Peterson got STOMPED by Michelle Fischbach, 53% to 40%, with a 50,000 vote margin.
Peterson was down 30,000 votes from his 2016 outing. He had represented the 7th CD for 30 years straight as a popular conservative Democrat.
We must remember that Joek "won" Minnesota going away.
Or at least he "won" the 55 mile by 70 mile Golden Rectangle centered on the Twin Cities.
He didn't do so well outside of the range of the busy ballot-harvesting bees in Minneapolis.
I will maintain that the Minnesota 7th outcome is a reflection of the TRUE vote in Minnesota, stripped of the fake votes from around Minneapolis.
I've seen a few other districts and counties where this is true in other states in 2020.
Once far enough from the vote fraud command and control centers, true voting numbers kick in.
Collin Peterson’s normal winning margins were from 52-60%, and his challengers’ margins were from 40-48%.
He needs to go jump in bed with Schiffty, Swillwall and a couple Red Chinese spies. He’s not a Republican.
they must have some good stuff on him to compromise him this easily. he’ll be out soon enough.
Next election turn this turd into a “Rice Crispy” as in “well done/toast”.
Flush this traitorous turd!!
You people are wasting time. No mention of a serious challenger. It’s the GOP voter that’s responsible.
They out themselves, don’t they? SMH
BS. It was the mail in ballots that arrived late at night.
You’re still gone you quisling turd.
I see a lot of denial in this thread. Sorry, Tom Rice is the GOP. He speaks for the 145 GOP House members who voted to keep Lizard Cheney in leadership AFTER she voted remove President Trump based on a Democrat hoax. THAT is the GOP.
It’s time for some good folks to face the ugly readily of our situation. We can’t fix it until we do that.
There’s no moving on from 2020 til we get to the bottom of it.
