Coal production is set to hit an all-time high according to the International Energy Agency (IEA) despite the curbing of production across several countries and aims for decarbonization following COP26. Coal demand has continued to increase through 2021 mainly due to the needs of large Asian countries that still rely on the fossil fuel, as well as gas shortages forcing European states to shift back to coal.
Coal has experienced a dramatic rebound this year, with production levels set to hit an all-time high in 2021 and demand levels to peak in 2022. Even after worldwide power generation from coal started falling in 2019 and 2020, as many countries shifted away from the energy source, it is expected to rise by around 9 percent this year to reach 10,350 terawatt-hours.
IEA Executive Director, Fatih Birol, voiced his concerns about the trend, “Coal is the single largest source of global carbon emissions, and this year’s historically high level of coal power generation is a worrying sign of how far off track the world is in its efforts to put emissions into decline towards net zero.”

Teslas’ (and all battery operated cars really) have a ton of plastic parts all over ‘em.......how ironic is that.
Coal is used to make electricity....period.
If you look at modern car on the road. Do you see smoke coming out of the tale pipe? No. Look at a coal plant in operation. Do you see smoke coming out of the stack? No. If you see anything, you will see pure H2O water vapor, the exact same harmless thing as nature's own a fluffy clouds.
Anyone know how to reduce an image size?
The Germans opened their borders and closed their nuclear power plants. Leave it to them to make a huge strategic blunder at least once every generation. They also closed most of their coal mines and now will do nothing to alienate Putin who controls Russian gas exports.
Including the segment devoted to Dems’ Christmas stockings?
They have been really naughty.

Isn’t coal a form of the accursed vegetative fossil fuels?
Coal...the dirty little secret that makes “green” energy possible...as long as “green” doesn’t go above 5% to 10% of the energy mix.
As electrical vehicles come more common we will need more coal production!
That is one thing that really drives me crazy about the virtue-signaling greenies: their clean energy all rests on a huge amount of pollution... elsewhere.

Hey, would anyone happen to know if US coal production went up as a result of this? I had a liberal friend blindside me by talking about how Trump promised a resurgence of the coal industry and didn’t deliver which is a good thing because coal is good for nothing.
