Sorry, Idaho. Things Were So Bad in 'Woke' Places That a Record Number of People Are Fleeing to Spud Country

Idaho’s state motto is Esto Perpetua, or, in English, “It shall be perpetual.” That may well characterize the state’s population situation in the Pandemic Year of Our Lord, 2021.

Idaho realized the highest percentage increase in population in 2021 in America: 2.9%, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.

Idaho had the fastest annual and cumulative population increase, growing by 2.9% (53,151) in the last year, and by 3.4% (61,817) since April 1, 2020. Idaho made modest gains from natural increase (4,398) and net international migration (413); however, the main driver of its fast increase was net domestic migration (48,876).

Not only is Idaho the largest grower of potatoes in the land, but it’s also the largest grower of lentils in the world, along with, wait for it, hops. It boasts American Wagyu beef production. No wonder people are flocking there. Beer, french fries, and steak in one spot? This isn’t just spud country, it’s paradise. You can see it from Heaven’s Gate, which overlooks Hell’s Canyon and three other states.

Sadly, Idaho is run by a semi-tyrant RINO governor, and a swap-creature leads the Senate.

I imagine home prices are out the roof and then all of those liberal ideals from Kalifornica will ruin it.

_______

That’s for sure. We moved to Idaho in 2016. We couldn’t afford this house if we were buying now.

They are similar, but much worse than locusts. They will come, destroy, and scold the locals for not acknowledging their “wisdom”.

I hate them, and most are so blinded by their arrogance that they cannot be changed.

Nothing against Idaho, we have considered moving there from Alaska at one point. Warmer climate, more sunlight, still get winter, etc…
But yeah, several years ago people started moving in and home prices skyrocketed. It is inevitable that leftists will change that state. Large cities, universities, and high home prices build leftists. Even in Alaska, Anchorage is half leftist, Fairbanks isn’t much better. So we remain.

Democrats are not satisfied that their own cities and states have been ruined, they need to make sure every other place becomes a dumpster fire also.

Has been happening for some time. Boise has a radical liberal Mayor. Lots of the originals are being run out of town due to increased costs.

Let’s hope they have some harsh winters to scare most of them back to California.

I moved to Idaho in Dec 2000. My city had 9,300 people. It is topping 14,000 now. Housing prices were stable. Increases mostly from US Dollar inflation and increased materials costs.

The great escape of the idiot kingdom of Kalifornia brought hordes of home buyers flush with funds from a just sold CA McMansions. Housing prices skyrocketed as the inbound buyers bid up prices on scarcely available homes for sale. Some new construction has occurred to meet demand, but Idaho limits development based on available water rights.

I expect to work through Dec 2022, then retire in my home in Idaho. Low cost of living was a consideration. Brandon has screwed that up for everyone. It's still better than what we left in San Diego.

I lived in Boise 45 years ago. Back then it was laid back and conservative. Easy to get around, lots to do (Bogus Basin YEAH!!!, floating the river down from Barber Park), Bruneau Canyon down south, Old Time Fiddlers in Weiser) etc.

One of the gripes was that Idaho policy was determined and set in Salt Lake City.
I cannot imagine what an overwhelming influx of Californians has done to the place. Back then they were cast with a wary eye. Leave it to the locusts to ruin a place....

Nonsense. Moved back to Idaho 16 years ago. I have Mountain View’s and live on the Snake River. Taxes are less than I paid in California. No view tax.
But there are skin head nazis with scary black guns that shoot 2000 clips a second. So don’t move here. We’re full
