Within weeks, scientists at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research expect to announce that they have developed a vaccine that protects people from COVID-19 and all its variants, even Omicron, as well as from previous SARS-origin viruses that have killed millions of people worldwide.
The achievement is the result of almost two years of work on the virus. The Army lab received its first DNA sequencing of the COVID-19 virus in early 2020. Very early on, Walter Reed’s infectious diseases branch decided to focus on making a vaccine that would work against not just the existing strain but all of its potential variants as well.
Walter Reed’s Spike Ferritin Nanoparticle COVID-19 vaccine, or SpFN, completed animal trials earlier this year with positive results. Phase 1 of human trials, which tested the vaccine against Omicron and the other variants, wrapped up this month, again with positive results that are undergoing final review, Dr. Kayvon Modjarrad, director of Walter Reed’s infectious diseases branch, said in an exclusive interview with Defense One.

Explain to me again why no one seems capable of creating a conventional vaccine using the weakened or dead form of the Covid virus?

I know right, I didn’t even know the Army was working on this. What a pleasant surprise. And after just 2 years from soup to nuts. Boy, they must really have been double-timing it.
And I’m sure taking it would be purely voluntary. Unless of course an emergency were declared.

I came here. I wasn’t feeling so well. I feel much better now."
They switched the formula in the decongestant and that is what it did to me.
So I had to switch to the PE formula.
It works. I guess. A bit. Not sure if it is not as good as the old formula or if I am just getting old and cranky.
Sounds like another “self-assembling lipid nano-particle” product. If so, it’s probably another mRNA type jab. It’s the new thing, it appears.
The old vaccines will probably, one-by-one, be remodeled as mRNA type jabs, which seem to be quicker and easier to make. With the Covid-19 precedent, they can be rushed out to market with no liability while they’re under an EUA. Older vaccines will probably fall off insurance companies formularies in favor of mRNA jabs, and if you want one of the older technology albumin grown vaccines you’ll have to pay a premium or buy it outside of insurance.
