MOSCOW, December 21. / TASS /. The US is building up a forward military presence near Russia’s borders, deploying about 8,000 troops in Eastern Europe, Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu said at the expanded meeting of the Defense Ministry Board on Tuesday.
"The US is scaling up its forward military presence near the Russian borders. In Eastern Europe, some 8,000 US troops have been deployed. As for the grouping of US troops in Germany, the Command Theater Engagement has been recreated there. Until 1991, it was responsible for using medium-range missiles," the defense minister noted. According to Shoigu, it is necessary to have strike missile weapons.

Really? You have over 100,000 troops massed on Ukraine’s border and you whine about 8,000 American troops? A friend of mine is a college professor in Kiev. The other night he was helping to clean machine guns. He said the mood is “Not optimistic, but realistic.”

Russia builds up their forces and contends it’s being done on Russian territory and therefore it’s none of NATO’s business.
NATO responds in kind and Russia whines about it.

Yawn. Obama sent units from the 173rd Airborne Brigade to Ukraine in 2015. WW3 didn’t start then and it won’t start now.
I lived from 1979-1982 in West Germany, and as a kid I devoured the Warsaw Pact agitprop. Even listened to their propaganda broadcasts on my shortwave radio. Albanian Radio was seriously off the rails. This is the same crap I heard from Tass and Pravda back then. There is nothing new under the sun...

If you go back to the first Gulf War and look at what Western forces did to the Russian trained and equipped Iraqi Army you’d understand that 8,000 Americans against 100,000 Russians isn’t a fair match.
The Russians are dreadfully outclassed and even with the US forces going woke the US military can still go through the Russians like poop through a goose.
And the Russians know it.
That was back in the day... you know, when we had a Republic.

Because the Russian leadership wants to rebuild the Soviet Empire and it’s better to stop them in Ukraine than to stop them in Berlin.
Typical Democrat getting us in to a war.
That was before the US military went woke and started with the Covid vaccine mandates.
The mandates will be a strong deterrent to young people who were thinking about joining the military.
Our military is declining—fast.
