Mitch McConnell says Joe Manchin ‘certainly welcome’ to join GOP
NY Post ^ | 12/20/2021 | Patrick Reilly

Senate Minority leader Mitch McConnell said the GOP would “certainly welcome” West Virginia Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin “if he was so inclined” to flip parties.

Manchin has been bashed by his partisan colleagues for pledging to vote against President Joe Biden’s Build Back Better plan.

Speaking on Fox News’ “The Guy Benson Show” podcast, the Kentucky senator called Manchin’s no vote “the single greatest favor Joe Manchin could give this country,” amid rising inflation costs.

McConnell said he wasn’t sure how Manchin would vote but is pleased that his decision effectively ends any chance that the bill will get the 50 Democratic votes it requires in the evenly divided Senate.

Yeah, I don’t see him jumping straight to the GOP, but it’s no surprise that he’s jumping.

He lost 20% from 2012 to 2018 in the generals, winning by only 3%. He won’t win 2024 as a D, the way things are going.

To go from being Minority Leader to Majority Leader, and have Republicans in charge of all committees, and be able to set the agenda of the Senate?

Manchin should agree to join the GOP the day McConnell resigns HIS senate seat.

“Sen Manchin is more Conservative than Mitch ... Why would he want to join the GOP ???”

How many times did Mitch vote for Obamacare or to remove Trump from office?

I wouldn’t trust him as far as I can throw him, which is zero distance right now.

He may have bought us some time, but I still think he will fold in the new year.

He is a Democrat. I don’t trust him.

At all.

“Remember though, Manchin voted to impeach President Trump.”

So did 7 Republicans. He would become another member of the RINO club, but at least it would shift committee assignments and allow more hearing on CDC, DOJ, and FBI etc.

Other stories have Manchin-on-a-Hill becoming an “independent.”

You know, like Angus (Beef) King, who caucuses with the DemoKKKrats?

Does anyone remember John McCain torpedoing the repeal of Obamacare?

Seems the Dems were all in favor of that, but not so much Joe’s scuttling of the horrendous BBB Bill.

Sauce for the goose....
