Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan appeared on Fox News Sunday. Fox News Sunday Maryland's Republican Gov. Larry Hogan predicted that Donald Trump would not run for president in 2024. Hogan told Fox News that it would be 'bad' for the country and the Republican party if Trump ran. Trump has teased a 2024 run but has not committed to the idea.
Republican Gov. Larry Hogan of Maryland predicted Sunday that former president Donald Trump would not run for president in 2024.
Speaking with Fox News' Bret Baier on Sunday, Hogan said it would be "bad" for the country if Trump were the 2024 nominee.
"I think that'd be bad for the party and bad for President Trump and bad for the country," Hogan said. "So I don't think he's gonna run, and I would — my advice would be that he did not run."

What they seem to have missed is that the Democrats don't really need them anymore. Even the pretense of a controlled opposition is unnecessary now.
There is never enough loot to pay off all of the factions and somebody always gets shorted. The Democrats do not want the Republicans hanging around for a split of the take.

What few Rs in the State of MD are in the far northwest which wants to secede and join West Virginia, far south MD, the Eastern Shore and the northern border with PA. All fine people but they are way outvoted by the mass of government-connected liberals in the counties surrounding DC and the cesspit known as Baltimore City.
