Los Angeles County reported 3,360 new cases of Covid-19 today. That’s up 1,085 cases (or 48%) over Thursday’s total of 2,275 new cases in the region. It’s the highest daily mark since 3,550 on August 18, which was among the peaks of the summer 2021 surge.
The County identified eight more cases of the Omicron variant today for a total of 38. Yesterday saw 12 new cases related to Omicron, which brought the tally to 30.
On Tuesday, the total was 15, meaning the number doubled in two days. Less than a week before that, on December 8, Los Angeles had identified just 4 cases. The first case of the new variant was discovered in L.A. on December 1.

Looks like Geraldo, asshat, still thinks CA is the gold standard for COVID prevention.
And, AGAIN. How many were vaccinated? If the report/study/survey whatever doesn’t provide that then it’s just scare hype, IMO. Futher, LA County....I’d add the question is how many are uncontrolled untested illegal aliens?
And what is happened in the last week? Oh, yes they invoked mask mandates indoors, making people sick!

that’s a screamer of a headline - for 38 cases. although i’m sure the number will climb if S Africa is our guide. as long as hospitalizations and deaths remain low, soldier on!
How about this question: Have you recorded more cases merely because you increased testing?

The reason there’s a spike is because L.A. is a major destination for ILLEGAL ALIENS who are flooding the border and are not vaccinated no less checked for anything.

Just rightwing propaganda. Everyone knows that wiping out Covid was one of Biden’s earliest agenda successes. It is quite incredible his administration checked that box so early. You rightwingers just won’t give him credit. Wiped out Covid, righted the economy, restored the people’s faith in government, etc etc., all done within his first 100 days. Maybe a tic longer, around 107 days.
Look no further than the roaring inflation to remove any doubt of how great he has been. The people are so confident now the supply chain can’t keep pace with our unbridled enthusiasm. I would be remiss in not mentioning how the public is gleefully lining up to purchase fuel at the current save the planet modest pricing.
I’m not sure there is much left for FJB to realistically accomplish. Now we need to give credit where credit is due, a few Noble prizes would be a great start along with some survey work to expand Mt Rushmore.
