‘Striking’ vaccine resistance in Omicron variant: Columbia University
New York Post ^

Posted on 12/16/2021 5:28:56 PM PST by navysealdad

A new study out of Columbia University says the Omicron variant is “markedly resistant” to vaccines and boosters might not do much to help, spelling bad news for the country as Omicron spreads and COVID-19 cases rise nationally

Markedly resistant? The answer is obviously more boosters.

They haven’t reformulated the shots since they first started, using the same original formula, what did they expect. Have all virologists gone nuts and forgotten what they leaned?

More is better—if you take five boosters from five different manufacturers at the same time it should work.

Science, yo!

Epidemiology 101...One cannot vaccinate themselves out of an epidemic. The arrogant CDC and NIH are relearning from experience what a veterinarian right out of school knows.

Isn’t that what diseases do?

Change in order to get around impediments like these RNA therapies?

Striking? Omicron is a union member? Silliness aside, the vaxx was only targeted at the original alpha version. Omicron shares very little with alpha. The concept of boosting antibody against alpha to fight omicron is just stupid. The flood of more LNP wrapped mRNA is just going to rev up the immune system to do more damage to the recipient with no value added against omicron.

So far Omicron is a bit more serve than the common cold.

Time for Omicron parties, immunity from Covid and end this shit.

1) Think about mechanism. If Omicron invades lung cells, and does so very well, that’s a lot of cells not processing air. This talk of mild symptoms came from a South Africa desperate not to be air travel isolated — from their bizarre hospital with 80% of patients under age 50. If a virus converts all lung cells into virus generators then you got none processing air. It’s not rocket science.

2) This guy is saying things people don’t want to hear. So that means he can’t be believed. Right?

3) Pan Resistant. He invents a new term.

4) There is no law of the universe that says this thing can’t wipe out huge % of global population. The only thing close to such a law is people can’t bear to imagine it. Yersenia Pestis didn’t care what people imagined.

Once a virus sets up in our animal population it's here to stay.

Like all though history this virus has mutated to a way less virulent form.

Covid is basically biologically over.

Dan Sirotkin (@Harvard2H) argues that SARS-CoV-2 is a vaccine derived live attenuated virus. It is on a deattenuation trajectory back to a more virulent original form. Viruses of this type perform "gatekeeping" functions that drive them back to their original, stable, virulent origin. The path back includes quasi-species swarms within a given host and between hosts when respiratory transfer is possible. The huge vaxxed population is generating lots of vaxx escape variants within each individual and sharing them between vaxxed hosts enjoying privileged access to activities.

You are absolutley correct, and make an excellent point which people should repeat loudly and often:

Covid is not, in any of its forms, anywhere near as dangerous as the Black Plauge (Yersenia Pestis) There is no reason why the over-reaching governments of the world should have reacted as though it is.

Geert Vanden Bossche was one of the scientist crying out like a voice in the wilderness back in march that he was 100% certain their would be quickly evolved variants resistant to the vaccines.

Respiratory corona viruses select fast around environmental pressures. These vaccines would have been the first in they worked. May not be that way. Phase two of vaccine trials - normally on animals - is being done on humans. Hope this is not the disaster many banned scientists predicted.

Omicron prefers bronchi to alveolar cells. It is more infectious than delta. Nominal doubling times are just over 2 days.

Once a virus sets up in our animal population it's here to stay.

SARS-CoV-2 was serially passaged over mice with humanize ACE to achieve the gain of function. In the last week, it was demonstrated that SARS-CoV-2 is happy to infect non-humanized (wild type) mice. It's not over. I just found a new reservoir...in addition to humans and deer.

IMO if we had focused on treatment methods augmenting the immune system and antivirals along with quarantines early, we’d been over this debacle months ago. What we have done is forced the Coronavirus to mutate and form variants that evaded the mRNA “vaccine’ which has prolonged the epidemic. What the CDC and NIH have done is 180 degrees from what I was taught in epidemiology and experience with outbreaks.

I can’t say I understand that all very well, but it certainly sounds bad.

This guy’s next mutation, Pan Resistant . . . I can assure you it won’t care what governments do.

That's not what it spells to me.
