New California rules end distinction for vaccinated workers

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — California workplace regulators were poised Thursday to extend the state’s coronavirus pandemic regulations into next year with some revisions that business groups say could worsen the labor shortage.

The main change to the California Occupational Safety and Health Standards Board’s revised temporary rule would erase current distinctions between vaccinated and unvaccinated employees.

Both would be prohibited from the workplace if they come in close contact with someone infected with the virus.

The revised temporary rules would require that exposed, vaccinated but asymptomatic workers stay home for 14 days even if they test negative or, if they return to work, to wear masks and stay 6 feet (1.8 meters) from others for two weeks.

The rules apply to almost every workplace in the state, including offices, factories and retail locations.

idiotic. nobody with vax is going to stay home for 14 days unless they are real sick with a fever. nor will they even test. they’ll be out golfing, skiing or maybe work a side gig.

rules that don’t make sense will never be followed.

If someone wore a big sign saying “I am infected with Covid” and walked down a busy city street, the entire crowd would have to run away in terror.

You can’t make up this stuff!

It certainly does not prevent transmission.

So jabbed or not, if you are exposed but don’t have the Coof you have to stay home for 14 days. That is a huge admission they don’t trust the jab to protecct the jabbed from spreading or getting sick.

The vaxx doesn't prevent contracting the virus. The vaxx doesn't prevent transmitting the virus. When the vaxxed contract the virus, the virus that dominates in their bodies is a vaxx escape variant. There is no virtue to being vaxxed. If you are exposed, you need to be prudent in monitoring for development of an active infection and stay away from others until you fully recover and demonstrate a negative post recovery test.

The vaxx does damage your immune system. Most of the recorded omicron infections have been vaxxed. Anecdotal report from friends in San Diego: Father and room mate are vaxxed. Mother and two children are unvaxxed. Someone carried COVID into the household. Mother and children have very mild symptoms. Father and room mate are significantly sick. All 5 are quarantining at home (sharing air and variants).

My recommendation to my company CEO last March was to prefer "work at home" vs returning to company offices. His preference was to "vaxx everyone to keep them safe" and return as many to the office as possible. The corporate web site was embellished with a "Move the Needle" campaign and 10 employees who submitted a vaxx card were rewarded with 1 year of salary.

I'm reminded of the anteaters who placed cakes and cookies on the ground near their picnic table and proclaimed, "and now we wait". The whole reason I raised the issue early with the CEO was to head off having my co-workers vaxxed and becoming cognitively impaired and/or dead. Information wasn't enough. There are more things "in play" on his desk.

Wow! That’s even better than a Krispy Kreme doughnut as a vax reward.
