A member of the legislature of Canada's province of Ontario was expelled during a session Tuesday morning because she was not vaccinated for COVID-19.
Cambridge, Ontario, MPP Belinda Karahalios had recently recovered from COVID-19 and tested negative for the virus. But Speaker Ted Arnott ordered her to leave because the current advice from the public officer of health was that she must be out of the chamber for 90 days following her positive test, Canada's CBC News reported.
"I need to address the member for Cambridge – member for Cambridge is obviously in the precinct and in the chamber at the present time in contravention of the current COVID-19 screening protocols that have been adopted by the Legislature – and I must now ask the member to withdraw from the chamber and leave the precinct," Arnott said.
Karahalios refused, saying "the rules that you’ve set out is proof of double vaccination or proof of negative rapid antigen test, which I was able to provide this morning."

If a family member living with you tested positive, yet you tested negative what happened next depended upon your vax status. If you were vaxed, you could come back into work immediately. If not, 20 days and a negative test at the end to come back in.
The theory on the 20 days was reasonably sound - 10 days or so to ensure your family member got over it and was no longer contagious, then another 10 days to cover the incubation period to ensure you hadn't caught it at the very end.
However, the pass for vaxxed makes no sense. We're told the vaxxed are in danger of catching it and spreading it - particularly from us bad old un-vaxxed types. ;-/ Therefore the special treatment accorded them makes no sense from a medical perspective. It is all about indirect pressure to comply.
Wonder if she can vote or not.

They tried to divide us by race. It didn’t work, as whites wouldn’t rise up against blacks. They tried politics, but too many liked the bad orange man. Now they have found an invisible enemy from which the ONLY protection is a shot of some unknown fluid. It is brilliant. You take the jab, you slowly die. Don’t take it and you slowly become outcast. People will eventually rise up over this. Look at the demonstrations across the globe. It is only a matter of time before news readers and politicians, local as well as National, are torn to pieces.
Heard the gendarmes were smacking some heads in France over the weekend. Cake may be in the oven.
