I can’t figure out why Lindsey would not ask that idiot ignorant Wallace how we would default on paying the interest on the debt when the taxes collected by IRS in the first 2 months of the fiscal year is more than the interest owed on the debt for the whole year. The only way to possibly default is for the Treasury Secretary to just refuse to make the monthly debt payments from incoming tax collections.

There is plenty left to also make Obligations for Social security and medicare.

Wallace: If you — you don’t raise the debt limit, the country defaults.

This is a bald lie. Default would only occur with the failure to make INTEREST payments on the debt. In the absence of an increased borrowing limit, tax receipts won’t stop . . . . government income would continue and Section 4 of the 14th amendment requires service of the debt. All that would happen would be HARD CHOICES on what handouts would stop.
