Russia edges closer to war as new arms arrive on Ukraine’s border

A recent sighting of Putin’s notorious Buk missiles on their way to the frontline does not bode well for talks

A flatbed rail wagon speeding through south-west Russia last week carried an ill omen for negotiations to avert a larger war with Ukraine.

On board was a Buk-M1, the kind of medium-range surface-to-air missile system that became notorious in 2014 after a missile fired from territory controlled by Russian proxies in eastern Ukraine shot down a Malaysian airliner, killing all 298 people aboard.

If Russia goes to war in Ukraine, it still needs to take a number of steps: establishing fuel supply lines, opening field hospitals and deploying air-defence systems such as the Buk that would protect its heavy weaponry and troops near the front.

Even as Joe Biden and Vladimir Putin were sitting down to talks meant to end the crisis, Russia was inching closer to being ready to launch a full-scale ground invasion of its neighbour.

“These data allow us to conclude that despite the negotiations between Biden and Putin, the concentration of Russian troops in the areas bordering the territory controlled by the Ukrainian authorities continues,” wrote the Conflict Intelligence Team (CIT) –

I can see it now ... ol’ joe is sitting down with a big dish of ice cream, in the White House kitchen, spoon almost to his mouth.

A military aide rrushes in, joe’s mouth full, his eyes dilateed with joy ...’Mr President, Putin is calling and wants you right now!’

joe, displeased with being disturbed from ice cream nirvana, rises with the aides’ help, and shuffles to the room containing the phone, and shuffled to that comfortable chair, sat down, and reached for the phone.

‘hello?’

‘hallo, joe? (laughs in ol’ KGB tone), ‘flok you’ i push button, what you do now, eh?(laughs murderouusly), click!

joe’sface just goes blank, his jaw slacks, and his aide cannot get his attention.

If the US gets involved in any conflicts, the purpose will be to further us along the Great Reset.

Conflict would make a great excuse to double or triple energy prices over night.

Russia considers a hostile NATO country on its indefensible southern border to be an existential imperative. The US Foreign Policy establishment can’t seem to fathom this reality, and keeps pushing for exactly that, then clutching their pearls when Russia reacts. Putin is saber-rattling to force a diplomatic solution wherein the West would stop pushing for European integration.

Ukraine has always had one foot in Europe and one in the Russian sphere. The solution to this “crisis” is an agreement that keeps it that way.

This article is from the UK Guardian.
You couldn’t find a source more left if you tried.

IMHO the Bidet administration has decided a nice war is needed to take our minds off covid and supply shortages and inflation just in time for Christmas.

“The MSM would say that’s a sign of a “healthy” economy.”

*****

It may be why they were making the push recently to get the media to cover the economy as doing “great.”

They can point back to this time and say, “Well, the economy was the best ever, the best in history (I’ve noticed they copy Trump on some things) until Russia invaded Ukraine. It’s Russia’s fault.”

It gives them cover for what they really want to accomplish.

What they really want is to fundamentally change our way of life. Particularly, they want to get vehicles off the road. Parts shortages and $15.00 per gallon gas does that very well.

They hate Putin, anyway, so whatever happens there is not really a big deal. Added bonus, increase defense expenditures.

True, but non sequitur

Biden is not President of Ukraine. Ukraine and the United States have no formal or informal defense arrangements. No President of the United States would under any circumstances authorize US military involvement in a war between Russia and Ukraine.

So, Biden's weakness or lack thereof is not the cause of the coming war, which is caused by issues critical to both antagonists and of no importance to the US.
