The European Union's counterpart to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said in an update Thursday that no deaths have been reported anywhere in the world linked to the omicron variant.
"All cases for which there is available information on severity were either asymptomatic or mild," said the report from the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control.
The ECDC reported 1,780 confirmed cases of the omicron variant in 57 countries worldwide.
Former CDC Director Dr. Robert Redfield on Thursday told "Fox & Friends" that omicron could become the dominant variant within weeks.
But he confirmed that while omicron and other new variants appear to be more contagious than previous ones, they also produces milder symptoms.

In spite of the best efforts of all the political class and Big Pharma to destroy us physically and financially with the virus as their permanent excuse for their behavior; the virus has now devolved into something akin to the common cold. A very transmissible but mild common cold.

In addition to appearing much milder so far, initial laboratory indications are that the existing antibody treatments remain effective against Omicron.
Having been on HCQ (plus the Marik Protocol) for nearly two years, I now have natural immunity, having tested positive for the antibody. Never once had symptoms. Game over. Thank you Dr Marik.

We probably really won’t see how effective the immunity from Omicron will be against the other strains, until next month or later.
So far it seems (unlike the other variants) that Omicron has a reasonably high rate of re-infecting people who previously had other strains of COVID (as well as evading vaccines).
It may be so different, with so many mutations (over 50, compared to 1-4 in previous variants), that cross-immunity is lessened. There should be some degree of immunity conferred - hopefully it is as strong as that from the previous variants.

Which is almost invariably how viruses evolve.
