Republicans & Democrats have united to punish China. They've passed a bill to ban all goods that are made through forced labour of Uighur Muslims. Which brands could this bill spell trouble for?
Versachi, Vuitton, etc.

From the same people who have been selling us out to China for decades.
I believe, that most solar cells are made by slave Uighur labor!
Are they going to stop importing solar cells from China?
Pretty much all of them are made there.
China’s American Frankenstein monster is running amok.
So they’ve awakened, at least partially. It may be too late. But partially is an improvement at least.
As well as the fear diapers they want everyone to wear on their faces, including children. This is an improvement, but probably just feel-good.
Don’t be satisfied.
A bureaucracy is most vulnerable when it starts to reform itself. But it only just started, and hopes everyone will be happy now and let them continue to run a mok. Shut down the mok. Frankenstein’s monster does not get to have a bride and make little monsters to help him run the mok.
Wait - you mean the Ds and Rs are going to STOP cashing the checks they are getting from the ChiComs?
Impossible.
Right; a faux trade war for the little people.
Pure theater...
An across the board 20% tariff on ALL imports would be a good start. this is for show.

( and batteries ! )
Pretty much all of them are made there.
/\
They are hoping no one notices while they divest from those stocks and reinvest in the solar and battery market.
Sounds fake.
Just to be crabby, how in the hell would anyone know if the Chinese crap they’re buying is made by Uyghur slaves or Chinese political prisoners?
Is this another Virtue Signal piece of fluff to try to convince people to keep buying Chinese because now “they’ll be monitored”? Don’t make me laugh.
I beg people every day to not buy ANYTHING new made in China, even sacrificing if it comes to it. Buy second hand, local yard sales, make due or due without.
I had to buy a few things this year MIC out of sheer necessity. But I don’t have a laundry basket or slippers and I won’t have them until I can find affordable, acceptable items.
Nothing for Christmas, either. You can find things to give as gifts that are new and not made in China, it just takes a little more effort.
China is our enemy and they’re getting bolder about it. Every penny you send to them will be used against us. It doesn’t matter what oppressed workers are being ill-treated by their Chinese masters.
“Just to be crabby, how in the hell would anyone know if the Chinese crap they’re buying is made by Uyghur slaves or Chinese political prisoners?”
Easily solved. Don’t buy anything from China. Of course, that basically means boycotting Wal-Mart. I’m fine with that.
Foolish post
China stuff. Is everywhere
True enough. But let’s start somewhere. Boycott WalMart. Boycott Nike and the NBA. Don’t install solar panels. Do that much, and we’ll see about what else can be done.
Passing a bill is a far cry from becoming law, especially with this administration.
It’s better than not passing a bill. Nothing becomes a law then, ever. Applaud the baby steps.
“Easily solved. Don’t buy anything from China. Of course, that basically means boycotting Wal-Mart”
Amen to that. I’ve bought a few things from China this year out of acute necessity - but I did search high and low for alternatives. Otherwise, I buy second hand or do without.
I buy meat from Walmart because it’s the most affordable in this area. My dogs are fed a real food diet and the 2 great beasts cost a LOT every month.
But I am beginning to wonder if even the meat there is from China.
...as they work to pass an electric bike subsidy
