Chicago police are considering closing streets in the city's downtown area, along with other potential strategies, in an effort to avoid a repeat of weekend mayhem that resulted in the arrests of more than 20 people last Saturday, ABC Chicago reported on Tuesday.
Citing an internal police memo that was given to police commanders on Tuesday and obtained by the ABC affiliate's investigative team, the affiliate reported that downtown streets near Michigan Ave. and lakefront parks could be closed. Police sources told the affiliate, however, that no plans had been announced and that such closures were meant to be used in a worst-case scenario.

you know, if they simply shutdown ALL downtown businesses, removed all merchandise, and completely boarded them up, that would solve the business-invasion robbery problem and at the same time prove to Mayor Beetlejuice that the businesses were doing stuff to prevent themselves from being robbed ... heck, that would even allow Chicago to further defund their police force ... i call that a win-win-win solution!
My wife and I used to go to Chicago twice a year, shopping, eating, theater but now there isn’t a chance in hell we’ll step foot there until there is new governance. A sad shame.

Closing off a major cities downtown due to crime. Hmmm, and the media/dems are denying there is a crime problem.
That will be the final nail in the coffin of those downtown businesses. How dare they try to make a living!

Instead they need to flood crime prone areas with cops, and if not cops then state police filling in for cops on duty elsewhere.
