Most corals do fine with the water a little warmer. This is a solution in search of a problem, typical of the academy today.
Darwin was an evil Eugenicist who’s ideas were used by the SS.
Any animal that mass spawns yearly has a rapid evolutionary adaptation to disease, poisons, and environmental changes. That’s why insects have almost become immune to many types of insecticides.
I consider both Global Warming and Evolution to be pretty much junk science.
It’s interesting that these people are using a lab and an Intelligent Design to see if Evolution can aid Global Warming. I imagine grant money is available.
During the MMCO (Middle Miocene Climate Optimum) created temperate climates throughout much of the world — as much as 4 to 5 degrees Celsius (or 7 to 9 degrees Fahrenheit) above today’s average temperatures. Life flourished on earth.
The coral reefs did just fine. As habitat changes the coral will simply grow in different areas that become ideal for it.
It is indeed all about Grant Money.....aka...waste my money please.
Hey, maybe we can bring Kudzu to the Southern United State to control erosion... or maybe import rabbits to Australia... What could possible go wrong?

Corals are already doing this. Corals are already adapting with species that have less trouble in warmer waters expanding as those who don’t like so much heat recede. They didn’t need human scientists to do what comes naturally TO LIFE.
Prompting adaptation is not evolution, it’s selective breeding.
Unless you think dog, cattle or horse breeds are evolutionary....
All adaptation is simply massaging traits to the forefront. Not evolution. No new genetics involved.
Silly scientists and their consensus. Get off the bus, it ain’t going there.
"...a solution in search of a large pile of Grant money!"

Are these the guys I saw a documentary on
that go into a reef, cut a big ol’ piece of coral off
take it to their workshop, cut those pieces up into bunch of little pieces and glue them to a base
grow them a little bigger
then go put them back into the ocean ?
Pfft.
Bet they get PhD money for an illegal gardeners wage.
How did coral even exist without well funded government bureaucrats???
Exactly.🙄
