The U.S. Embassy in Tokyo issued a tweet on Sunday warning that foreigners were being stopped by Japanese police in "suspected racial profiling incidents."
"The U.S. Embassy has received reports of foreigners stopped and searched by Japanese police in suspected racial profiling incidents. Several were detained, questioned, and searched," the tweet said.
"U.S. citizens should carry proof of immigration and request consular notification if detained," it added.

I was stopped by the Tokyo police on the very first morning of my very first trip there. We had a very pleasant conversation, they asked me all kinds of questions and I walked away thinking what friendly folks they were. ‘Course I’d never been racially profiled before so really didn’t know what was going on.
But hey, they can handle things any way they want - it’s their town.
I guess I’m privileged because I don’t care. I’ve never been harmed by someone knowing my skin color. I’ll bet no one currently alive in this country has been either.

In this age of the entitled, I suspect those detained and searched are those who refused to answer questions, expecting the same probable-cause requirements in the US.
The grandmothers, children and others killed and mowed down in the Wakesau Massacre may disagree.

The Japanese people have a reputation for being polite. But a black guy I know taught English in a Japanese high school for a year. He was bombarded by rude and disrespectful comments almost daily. Was that a racial thing? My friend thinks so.

I'm a big fan of the Japanese. But yes, to them, "Japanese" is a race. It's pretty much core to their culture. They know they're better than anyone else in the universe. After Commodore Perry paid them a diplomatic call in 1853 accompanied by gunships, they have learned to deal respectfully with foreigners--except for that lapse 80 years ago.
The Han Chinese--the race that runs China and enslaves the others--believe they ARE China and no one else ranks. They gave Japan their basic culture over the millennia. Except the Japanese are not currently consumed and corrupted with evil as the ChiCom rulers are.
Japan as a nation has been around for at least 1000 years, and will be around long after leftists turn the USA into North Mexico and Wokistan.
