Speaking at a Wall Street Journal CEO Council Summit on Tuesday, Manchin said, “the unknown we’re facing today is much greater than the need that people believe in this aspirational bill that we’re looking at, and we’ve got to make sure we get this right.

Yes, and he'll vote for this one to. His statements today already show a softening on it.

They’ll just say inflation is Trump’s fault, and a sizable number in this country will believe it. It pains me to watch some otherwise intelligent people, many who are in the middle or to the right of center politically, who don’t understand the details of what is being “reported”.

He likes attention and wants to run for president as a “centrist” bringing America back together?

The guy has a $700,000 yacht and drives a Maserati ...I don’t think he’s that worried about OUR money.

.
If Manchin truly stands up to Dems crazy spending, this will be the first time.

He always makes noise and says he’ll oppose, and then he votes with the Mob.

Even the WH Chief of Staff said Manchin always does this and then Votes with Dems. I think that pissed off Manchin that the WH openly said he would cave, thus it’s been drawn out this far.

More power to him, but his history is putting up a fake front and passing whatever they want.

Manchin has never been concerned with inflation in the past, now he’s worried sick about it? I think he’s just searching for a reason he can give for not voting for the bill that will cause the least backlash from his Democrat base but will still allow himself to pitch himself as a thoughtful legislature to independents and moderate Republicans.

Manchin was the deciding Vote to move this atrocity out of Committee.

Schumer strong-armed him and it wouldn’t even be eligible for a Vote without him.

if this bill were to pass, a lot of these new programs are only funded for a few years. Is a future congress with at least one house controlled by the GOP going to approve more funding for these programs? Obviously - NO.

Why waste money on a program that will only exist for a few years?

Inflation is one thing. At some point, that will pass. It’s all the other nutty things in this bill that are a bigger concern.
