Russian President Vladimir Putin is expected to extend his country’s close defense ties with India this week on a visit that highlights the challenges facing the U.S. as it courts Indian assistance in countering China. Mr. Putin and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi are expected to sign agreements including one extending military technical cooperation until 2031 and another to produce more than 500,000 Russian-designed rifles in India, according to officials involved in the visit.

Allies, BS.

But I guess that making arms are way more profitable than answering a phone and spitting gibberish out the line

The world is moving on from the decades of US domination...and at some point we’ll figure it out. Eventually.

biden’s call to Putin yesterday was rubbish.

I can just imagine how bored Putin must have been and then laughing hysterically after hanging up.

They are so far ahead of us on scale heading into this war it is frightening!

The world is moving on from the decades of US domination...and at some point we’ll figure it out. Eventually.

When it happens, it will be very bad for the World, and the USA.

US domination is a Pax Americana, extending the Pax Britannica.

The world made enormous progress in the last two centuries, as freedom of the seas and trade was generally assured under those domains.

If that domination ends, the World will be split into many competing domains with much more frequent conflicts.

consider this in light of the supply chain issues too...

China just ordering returning crews quarantine for 7 weeks.

Guess I should go snoop for more India news too.

All the while the United States fiddles with distraction after distraction. SMH

Well, well, well...so if India sides with Russia against the US in a war for Ukraine, I wonder what the impact will be for all those corporations that rely on offshore for their operations? And where will the loyalties lie for the H1Bs that are here?

India —> Russia —> China —> Pakistan —> India?

There’s a kink in this circle of alliance.

“The world is moving on from the decades of US domination...and at some point we’ll figure it out.”

This is what happens when you stop being a serious nation. You embolden your enemies and your friends start to doubt you.

India has had some serious territorial conflicts with China recently. That could complicate things considerably.

https://www.livemint.com/news/india/india-to-push-back-on-1-bn-russian-helicopter-deal-during-putin-visit-report-11638530168871.html

India is moving forward only on deals it deems still beneficial to her. The Rifle contract moves forward as the rifles are both acceptable and affordable.

This chopper contract got stuck in price negotiation and the unyielding Russians got caught on the wrong foot when the locally produced LUH (Light Utility Helicopter) passed all Army and Air Force specs including ops at 20K+ feet in the Himalayas, making the Russian chopper redundant. Naval trials are ongoing but not expected to throw up surprises.
