**Jehovah’s Witness?**

No. I realize that, as an organization, the JWs don’t do Christmas, but it is still not observed by many folks that claim to be followers of the Word of God.

My paternal grandparents were United Brethren, and didn’t have the tree. My maternal grandparents were Methodist, and started having a tree when my mother was born..

I was raised Presbyterian, mostly because it was nearby the farm we lived on (Mercer County, IL). Our little country church was very conservative back in the 50s, but was already accepting the tree and Santa Claus nonsense.
My wife and I joined a Pentecostal church in 1982, and we haven’t had a tree since.

As said in Jeremiah, it can’t do good or evil, it’s mankind’s vanity.

And every year (it seems) one burns down a house, taking a family with it.

Do you realize how illogical your comment is?

All sorts of electrical things burn down houses - not just Christmas trees. (Are you going to rid yourself of all electrical lighting? After all, if it burns down your house, God must be punishing you for something.)

You seemed to be saying earlier that the Christmas Tree is somehow idolatrous. You seem to think that it’s a ‘pagan’ symbol.

Well, it may have begun as such, just as Easter eggs and bunnies did. But I doubt that anyone today uses any of these with the intention of employing them as ‘pagan’ symbols.

Imbuing a mere object with some magical power is simply pagan superstition - and you seem to be doing that.

Intention as to how a symbol is employed is where power lies.

What do you think the intention of these people is:

“So go binge-watch rants from metro swamp-frauds if you’re that pathetically dumb... just quit rambling and writing us novels apologizing for real-world election criminals.”

Oh for heaven sakes, you’re back. That’s unfortunate.

The guy who did it has been set free without bail.

A retired electrician once told me that do-it-yourselfers cause many homes to burn down. But during December he said driving by all the homes with christmas trees inside and lit, even after the family has probably gone to bed, raised his anxiety level. When doing a repair at a home during this time of year, he wouldn’t hesitate to point out to the customer something unsafe about their tree setup.

**What do you think the intention of these people is:**

If it makes you happy, then that’s the freedom of the USA.

**You seemed to be saying earlier that the Christmas Tree is somehow idolatrous. You seem to think that it’s a ‘pagan’ symbol.**

I didn’t write Jeremiah 10:1-7.

**Imbuing a mere object with some magical power is simply pagan superstition - and you seem to be doing that.**

I seem to prefer to be free from following man-made traditions whenever they counter God’s word.

People like the story of the Christ-child. That’s wonderful! But there’s not even a month given in the scriptures, and certainly no scriptural record after the Son of God’s ascension testifying of disciples celebrating the event at a given time.

So, I guess you are saying that we shouldn’t commemorate the birth of Jesus at all - since we don’t know when it exactly happened, and scripture hasn’t given us any precise instructions as to how we should observe.

You must live a very dour life. But, Merry Christmas, to you and yours!
